Description of Task to be Performed:Come join our growing team and make a difference every day! AnaVation is seeking an experienced Security Engineer with experience ensuring classified systems meet or exceed federal cybersecurity and compliance standards, including vulnerability management, PKI, COMSEC, and audit readiness.
Key responsibilities include:- Conduct vulnerability scans (Tenable, VPR), implement security hardening.
· Maintain Certification & Accreditation (C&A) packages in CSAM.
· Manage PKI and IC-PKI certificates, soft/hard token lifecycle.
· Support audit prep, contingency planning, and incident response.
· Provide COMSEC support including key issuance and inventory
This position is full-time onsite in Washington, DC and cannot be supported remotely.
Required Qualifications:- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field preferred. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant cybersecurity or information security experience is required.
- Experience: 5 years
- Required Skills/Certs:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting enterprise IT security in a federal or classified environment
- Experience conducting Certification & Accreditation (C&A) activities, including working within CSAM and NIST frameworks.
- Proven experience in security monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, and audit support.
- Familiarity with DOJ security standards and FISMA, NIST 800-53, RMF, and ICD 503 compliance frameworks.
- Proficiency in security tools such as Tenable Nessus, Splunk, VPR, and other vulnerability scanning/reporting solutions.
- Strong understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), smart card certificate management, and IC-PKI lifecycle processes.
- Experience maintaining security plans, contingency and incident response plans, and conducting monthly control assessments.
- Ability to coordinate with engineering, system administrators, and COMSEC personnel to ensure system compliance.
- Required Clearance:
- Active Top Secret clearance required. Selected candidates will be required to obtain TS/SCI.
Preferred Qualifications:- Industry certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, or CEH required
