Job Summary
The Senior Account Manager - Scientific Services at Springer Health+ is responsible for managing key client relationships, driving revenue growth, and leading strategic scientific communication initiatives. This role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality medical content and creative solutions, working closely with the Head of Scientific Services. The position requires strong networking with medical affairs and marketing teams within pharmaceutical companies, exceptional project management, and client servicing skills, focusing on client engagement, brand strategy alignment, financial management, team leadership, and business growth.
Must Have
- Act as the primary strategic advisor and main point of contact for client brand strategy and planning.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships and contribute to strategic and tactical planning.
- Lead client meetings, identify growth opportunities within existing accounts, and support new business development.
- Serve as a recognized brand and therapeutic area expert.
- Maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders.
- Conduct regular account reviews to assess performance, revenue, and profitability.
- Own revenue targets, ensure accurate forecasting, and drive growth through proposals and pitches.
- Secure and expand profitable business opportunities.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to refine briefs.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of scientific services, ensuring timelines, scope & quality standards are met.
- Education in Life sciences, pharmacy, or related field (mandatory).
- 15+ years in medical communications or healthcare marketing client-facing account management roles.
- Strong understanding of medical affairs, scientific content development, and pharma compliance.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Well-networked within the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry in India.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, hands-on, and results-driven with a passion for innovation and client success.
- Proficiency in MS Office.

About the Role
The Senior Account Manager – Scientific Services is responsible for managing key client relationships, driving revenue growth, and leading strategic scientific communication initiatives while ensuring the delivery of high-quality medical content and creative solutions. This role works closely with the Head of Scientific Services, who provides oversight on both strategic and tactical activities. The position demands strong networking capabilities with medical affairs and marketing teams within pharmaceutical companies, combined with exceptional project management and client servicing skills. Core responsibilities include client engagement, client brand strategy alignment, financial management, team leadership, and fostering business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management & Business Development
Act as the primary strategic advisor and main point of contact for client brand strategy and planning.
Build strong, trust-based relationships and contribute to both strategic and tactical planning.
Lead client meetings, identify growth opportunities within existing accounts, and support new business development.
Client Expertise
Serve as a recognized brand and therapeutic area expert, proactively gaining insights into client strategy and market context.
Maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders and ensure continuity.
Stay informed on industry trends and competitors, integrating insights into recommendations.
Team Leadership
Represent the team to the client, guiding and supporting members during meetings and calls.
Review proposals for strategic alignment and share best practices to enhance collaboration.
Account Planning & Revenue
Conduct regular account reviews to assess performance, revenue, and profitability.
Identify strategic opportunities across the product lifecycle and lead brainstorming sessions.
Own revenue targets, ensure accurate forecasting, and drive growth through proposals and pitches.
Profitability & Negotiation
Secure and expand profitable business opportunities, including strategic services.
Address profitability challenges and negotiate retainers or brand maintenance agreements.
Project Management
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to refine briefs and ensure clarity before execution.
Approve estimates for accuracy, market value, and profitability.
Oversee end-to-end delivery of scientific services, ensuring timelines, scope & quality standards are met.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education: Life sciences, pharmacy, or related field (mandatory). MBA or equivalent is a plus.
Experience:
15+ years in medical communications or healthcare marketing client-facing account management roles.
Strong understanding of medical affairs, scientific content development, and pharma compliance.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
