This role involves researching, designing, developing, and optimizing applications using Power Integrations' products, including application boards and firmware algorithms. The engineer will assist in new product development, evaluate designs, perform circuit evaluation and simulation, and troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues. Responsibilities also include providing technical support to customers, creating design documentation, and leading application development projects.
Good To Have:- Experience in designing power electronics circuitry for industrial equipment or consumer devices.
- Experience in motor application and/or motor control.
- Background in Field Oriented Control (FOC), 6-step, single-phase, and three-phase motor application.
Must Have:- Research, design, develop, and optimize applications using Power Integrations’ products.
- Design and develop application boards.
- Develop algorithms to optimize design applications.
- Assist in new product development and research of new applications.
- Evaluate designs, perform circuit evaluation, simulation, and computation.
- Develop or update hardware and software tools for testing and validation.
- Develop or update firmware algorithms.
- Perform design and code reviews.
- Troubleshoot system, performance, and functional issues.
- Provide design documentation, training materials, and technical support.
- Provide design support and technical advice to customers.
- Satisfy customer design requirements.
- Research and write technical application materials.
- Lead development of hardware and firmware design applications.
- Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 5 years of experience in relevant areas (inverters, motor control, programming, power electronics, test equipment, control loop design, EMI/ESD/thermals, PCB design, circuit simulation).
- Experience in development and use of microcontroller (MCU) platforms.
- Experience in code/firmware development or review.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
