Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) - Data & Analytics

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with 8+

years of dedicated experience in data and analytics. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between

complex business challenges and cutting-edge data solutions, driving data-informed decision-making

across the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of data warehousing, business

intelligence (BI) principles, and advanced analytical methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Requirement Elicitation and Management:
• Lead discovery sessions with executive stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts

(SMEs) to define, analyze, and document complex business, functional, and non-

functional requirements for data and analytics initiatives.

• Translate high-level business goals into detailed, clear, and actionable technical

requirements, user stories, and functional specifications for data engineers and

development teams.

• Data and Solution Analysis:
• Act as the primary functional expert for enterprise data platforms, data warehouses,

and BI solutions.

• Perform hands-on advanced data analysis and Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA)

using SQL, Python/R, and statistical techniques to identify patterns, trends, and root

causes that inform solution design.

• Develop and maintain data flow diagrams, data lineage documentation, and

conceptual/logical data models, ensuring data governance and quality standards are

met.

• Solution Design and Implementation Leadership:
• Collaborate with data architecture and engineering teams to design optimal technical

solutions for data integration, transformation, and storage (ETL/ELT).

• Guide the implementation team to ensure the technical solution remains business-

relevant, functionally accurate, and aligned with data strategy.

• Oversee the development and enhancement of high-impact data visualizations,

dashboards, and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik Sense, ensuring

they effectively tell a story and drive business action.

• Project Leadership and Mentorship:
• Serve as the BSA lead on complex, multi-year projects, managing scope, schedule,

and cost trade-offs in collaboration with Project Managers.

• Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and post-implementation validation, ensuring

the solution delivers the expected business value and data accuracy.

• Mentor and guide junior analysts, contributing to the development of best practices

and frameworks within the Business Analysis and Data & Analytics functions.

��️ Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 8+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar

role, with a strong focus on data warehousing, Business Intelligence, and advanced analytics

projects.

• Technical Proficiency (Mandatory):
• Expert-level SQL proficiency for complex data querying, analysis, and data

validation.

• Deep understanding of Data Warehouse/Data Lake/Data Mesh concepts (e.g., star

schema, snowflake schema, slowly changing dimensions).

• Experience with BI and Data Visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is highly

desirable.

• Proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Azure

DevOps).

• Analytical & Business Skills:
• Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis and design data-driven solutions for

complex business problems.

• Expertise in various requirement elicitation techniques (workshops, interviews,

document analysis) and process modeling (e.g., BPMN using Visio or Lucidchart).

• Strong knowledge of Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and Waterfall methodologies.
• Soft Skills:
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate

complex technical and analytical concepts to diverse audiences, from developers to

C-level executives.

• Demonstrated experience in senior-level stakeholder management and conflict

resolution.

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to drive consensus and organizational

change.
