The Team

As a Senior Combat Designer, you will be a key player in shaping the game's combat mechanics and overall player experience. You will have a specific focus on the 3Cs, ensuring that the game's characters, camera perspectives, and controls work seamlessly to deliver an engaging and fluid combat experience.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of relevant game design experience with a focus on combat design and 3Cs
  • Very good experience working with modern game engines and tools like Unreal 4 and Unity
  • Very good Experience with visual scripting languages like Blueprint or similar
  • Very good understanding of design processes for both systems and content (items, NPCs, levels etc)
  • Good Experience with rapid prototyping
  • Experience working on open-world or sandbox games
  • A strong passion for strategy games and medieval settings
  • Familiarity with medieval weaponry and combat styles is a plus
  • Experience with 3Cs for mounted is a plus
  • Relevant bachelor degree or equivalent experience
  • Very good organizational skills
  • Good communicator
  • Enjoys playing RPGs, openworld games and multiplayer games

 

Responsibilities


  • Camera Perspectives: Define and optimize camera settings that enhance the combat experience without disorienting the player.
  • Control Schemes: Develop intuitive and responsive control schemes that make combat both accessible and fun.
  • Character Mechanics: Design and implement character combat abilities, ensuring they are balanced, impactful, and align with the game's overall mechanics.
  • Combat Systems: Work closely with Systems Designers and other Combat Designers to integrate combat mechanics into broader game systems.
  • Iteration and Feedback: Use playtesting, player feedback, and analytics to refine combat systems.
