Must Have
- Administer and maintain GitLab environments
- Optimise GitLab for higher reliability and performance
- Maintain security tools such as SAST scanners
- Maintain systems from underlying infrastructure to application layer
- Provide technical support
- Develop and maintain reusable CI/CD components
- Improve daily life and efficiency of engineers across Arm
- Experience of Linux based infrastructure design, provisioning, and maintenance
- Good knowledge of Cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
- Demonstrable experience in Infrastructure as code and configuration management technologies (Terraform, Ansible)
- Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, Fleet)
- Basic software engineering experience

- Experience working in a Platform Engineering environment, with focus on developer experience and efficiency
- Deep understanding of GitLab internals and architecture as an administrator

Job Overview:
We are looking for Site Reliability, Platform and DevOps engineers to join our team. This role has significant impact in improving the engineering experience at Arm!
Engineering IT supplies the tools and systems needed for creation of our software and hardware IP. Within this group, the Engineering Platform Services function provides tooling used across the company’s engineering population, as well as focusing on the tooling needs of software engineers.
As a Senior Engineer at Arm you will own technical deliveries, with responsibility from requirements through to planning, implementation, and delivery.

Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain GitLab environments, to provide a first-class engineering experience for Arm's hardware and software engineers:
- Optimise GitLab for higher reliability and performance.
- Maintain our suite of security tools such as SAST scanners.
- Maintain the systems, from the underlying infrastructure to the application layer.
- Provide technical support.
- Develop and maintain reusable CI/CD components.
- Engineering experience – improving the daily life and efficiency of engineers across Arm.
Our varied activities involve development, and operational work. We support and guide the engineering community on how best to utilise the services we offer. Developments range from minor improvements to multi-month strategic projects. We invest significant time collaborating with other engineering teams at Arm.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience of Linux based infrastructure design, provisioning, and maintenance.
- A good knowledge of Cloud services. Experience of at least one of the following: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
- Demonstrable experience in Infrastructure as code and configuration management technologies such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, Fleet).
- Basic software engineering experience
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:
- Experience working in a Platform Engineering environment, with the associated focus on developer experience and efficiency, and the ethos of enabling self-service access to infrastructure and systems through automation.
- Deep understanding of GitLab internals and architecture as an administrator.
- Experience of Microservice Software development.
