Job Summary
Micron Technology is seeking a Senior Process Engineer for Photomask Printability and Repair at MTC. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining MTC’s Printability and Photomask Repair processes. The engineer will collaborate with tool vendors for improvements and with MTC’s fab and equipment support teams to enhance reliability and capability. Key responsibilities include process monitoring, issue identification, root cause analysis, and executing DOEs to optimize process performance and repair quality. The position requires a strong understanding of optical imaging systems and experience in photomask manufacturing or related fields.

- Plan and execute DOEs for new process development.
- Create and maintain process documentation.
- Provide training and mentoring for area processes.
- Assist with reticle repairs and defect analysis.

As a Senior Process Engineer for Photomask Printability and Repair at MTC (Mask Technology Center), you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of MTC’s Printability and Photomask Repair processes. You will also work closely with tool vendors to drive their tool improvement projects, and with MTC’s fab and equipment support engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and capability.
Requirements:
- M.S. or higher degree in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or Engineering Discipline
- Minimum 2 years of experience in photomask manufacturing, photo lithography, or other optics related field
- Understanding of optical imaging systems, simulation experience is a plus (SLitho or similar)
Process Engineering:
- Monitor processes, identify issues and gaps affecting yield and repair quality
- Improve process performance, consistency and uptime by applying pFMEA and SPC of critical parameters
- Work with Fab team to address day-to-day questions and issues
- Investigate and address root causes of process issues and failed repairs (tune recipes, train technicians, initiate tool repairs, etc.)
- Plan and execute DOEs to develop new processes, understand process trends and improve performance
Training and Support:
- Create and maintain documentation for area processes (Operations Specs, BKMs, GeRM, etc.)
- Provide 1:1 training and mentoring as appropriate, conduct area meetings, perform OJT skill assessments
- Assist with difficult reticles and repairs
- Provide expert insight and assistance for defect analysis to other engineering teams
