Position Overview
Autodesk is seeking a visionary and dynamic Senior Director to lead our .com and Commerce Engineering teams across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This role is crucial to driving Autodesk's digital strategy and ensuring seamless online experiences. Reporting to the VP, .com & Commerce Engineering in our Growth Experience Technology (GET) organization, you will manage a fast-growing team of approximately 200 engineers, contractors, and cross-functional pod members, while building and scaling the regional execution of our digital commerce strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture:
- Cultivate a growth-mindset culture of trust, inclusivity, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Partner with senior leadership to align APAC goals with global objectives
- Champion agile best practices (Scrum, Kanban, SRE) and iterative delivery methods
- Define and embed a diverse, high-performing global engineering team to deliver high-quality digital and commerce solutions
- Build a robust university recruiting pipeline and scalable interview processes; attract and develop top regional talent
- Provide regular coaching and mentoring, including 1:1s, career-pathing discussions for senior ICs and managers, and leadership development programs
Operational Management:
- Stand up modular “pods” on demand, overseeing day-to-day operations including SLIs/SLOs, CI/CD pipelines, incident response, and post-mortem rigor
- Measure and report on key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement in performance, quality, and cost efficiency
- Implement best practices, processes, and technologies to optimize workflow and enhance productivity
- Partner with Finance to build and manage hiring plans, headcount forecasts, and operating budgets
Collaboration & Communication:
- Represent the APAC region in global forums, providing insights and feedback to shape Autodesk’s digital roadmap
- Foster transparency and regular syncs across time zones, aligning cross-functional partners on priorities and roadmaps
- Quickly clarify ambiguous requirements to create actionable roadmaps that drive clarity across locations
Innovation & Development:
- Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging the exploration of new technologies (AI-driven personalization, headless commerce, cloud microservices) and methods to improve customer experience
- Invest in self-service platforms and automation to accelerate team velocity and resilience
- Drive the development and deployment of new digital features and functionalities
- Ensure compliance with regional regulations and standards pertaining to digital commerce and online presence
Customer Focus:
- Use data, analytics, and direct feedback to optimize every step of the digital commerce journey
- Drive initiatives that boost reliability, usability, customer satisfaction, and engagement across .com channels
- Champion customer-centric solutions and drive initiatives to increase satisfaction and loyalty
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree or MBA preferred
- 15+ years in digital commerce, SaaS engineering leadership, with significant experience managing regional teams and driving global/follow-the-sun delivery
- Proven track record in developing and executing digital strategies within a large organization
- Deep understanding of APAC market dynamics, customer behaviour, and regulatory environment
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making
- Experience with ecommerce platforms, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital marketing tools
