Job Summary
Squeeze Studio Animation is seeking talented Senior DMP artists for a short contract from January 12 to January 23, 2026. The role involves building landscapes, sets, and virtual environments, participating in pre-production, developing concept art, and creating stylized matte paintings. Artists will collaborate with the production team, report issues, meet deadlines, and work with Nuke for 2D & 2.5 projecting and Maya for set dressing.
Must Have
- Participating in pre-production meetings and exchanging creative ideas
- Understanding the artistic vision of the Director, Art Director, or Creative Director
- Researching visual references
- Developing concept art
- Creating stylized matte paintings and set elements
- Collaborating with the production team (FX Supervisor, Lighting Artists, Compositing Artists, Shader Artists, etc.)
- Reporting creative or technical issues
- Meeting deadlines and delivering the expected quality
- Building a reference library
- Working with Nuke for 2d & 2.5 projecting
- Working with Maya for set dressing
- Keeping up with technological advancements and innovations
- Demonstrated experience as a matte painter with a solid command of digital painting software such as Photoshop
- Knowledge of 3D software for seamless integration
- Previous experience in an animation studio or similar production
- Strong ability to analyze and solve visual and technical problems creatively
- Varied and impressive portfolio of matte painting work demonstrating a range of styles and technical skills
- In-depth knowledge of the principles of composition, lighting, perspective and artistic design
- Familiarity with Maya and Nuke software
- Stylized portfolio for animation
