Autodesk is seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner for the FP&A-AEC team, reporting to the Finance Director-AEC Industry Strategy. This role involves partnering with the Construction Strategy Team, focusing on business health, offering management, M&A, and strategic planning. The partner will act as a trusted financial advisor, providing insights on investments, portfolio analysis, and technology decision support. Responsibilities include reviewing KPIs, analyzing financial impact, supporting go-to-market decisions, and driving ad-hoc financial analyses to inform business leaders.
Must have:
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership teams, providing counsel on resource allocation.
  • Review business KPIs and analyze the financial impact of investments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvement and enhanced reporting.
  • Provide financial support on go-to-market decisions (product tiering, market expansion, business model, pricing, M&A).
  • Participate in Quarterly Business Review preparations.
  • Oversee and provide input to the Construction Long Range Plan (LRP) and annual topline targets.
  • Create business cases to drive new investments.
  • Drive ad-hoc financial analyses and models.
  • Advise business leaders on business and financial decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree (finance, accounting, economics or equivalent).
  • 8+ years of finance and business partnering experience.
  • Prior experience in Finance, Investment Banking, or Consulting.
  • Demonstrated capability to influence decision making at all levels.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in a global and matrixed environment.
  • Working knowledge of financial and strategic planning, accounting, and business development.
  • Outstanding quantitative skills.
  • Ability to quickly understand complexities of company's evolving products, markets, and business models.
  • Ability to work across a matrixed, multi-level organization.

Position Overview

Autodesk is looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our FP&A-AEC team. You will report directly to the Finance Director-AEC Industry Strategy and will partner with the Construction Strategy Team. The construction strategy team is responsible for business health, offering management, M&A and strategic planning. In this capacity you will serve as a trusted financial advisor, guiding and providing insights on investments, portfolio analysis and technology decision support, while adhering to your fiduciary duties as a member of the finance organization. Additionally, you will help support AEC industry strategy with horizontal projects to drive business growth through successful GTM strategy and execution across teams on AutoCAD and core AEC portfolio.

Candidate must have a strong blend of business and financial acumen coupled with a creative, flexible mind-set. Working knowledge of financial and strategic planning, accounting and business development is required. Must have outstanding quantitative skills and the ability to quickly understand the complexities and relationships of the company's evolving products, markets, competitors, partners, pricing and business models. Candidate must proactively provide analysis and and insight into the business -- uncovering outliers, leading indicators of failure and success, and using business metrics to help measure the health of the business. Able to work across a matrixed, multi-level organization to gather and synthesize information from a data perspective and effectively communicate and influence business stakeholders on a timely basis. Responsibilities

  • You’ll act as trusted advisor and be embedded in the leadership teams, providing counsel on where to invest or reallocate resources to achieve intended strategic outcomes
  • You’ll be reviewing the actual results of the business KPIs; analyzing and articulating the financial impact of investments and driving maximized ROI
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to navigate through systems and people, to drive process improvement and enhanced reporting capabilities
  • Provide financial support on go-to-market decisions (product tiering, market expansion, business model, pricing and M&A etc.) to build or validate financial models and articulate financial impact
  • Participate in Quarterly Business Review preparations and partner with Strategy, Sales, Marketing, Product teams and their finance counterparts in interlock and check-in meetings to drive execution alignment to strategy and achieve growth
  • Oversee and provide input to the Construction Long range plan (LRP) and annual topline targets and build growth assumptions
  • Create business cases to drive new investments
  • Drive ad-hoc financial analyses and models to inform and support recommendations and business cases
  • Advise business leaders, primarily the VP and their staff, on business and financial decisions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (finance, accounting, economics or equivalent preferred)
  • CPA or MBA is desired but not required
  • 8+years of finance and business partnering experience
  • Prior experience in Finance, Investment Banking or Consulting
  • Demonstrated capability to influence decision making at all levels
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in a global and matrixed environment
  • Strong aptitude for, experience with, or desire to learn financial software (e.g. Anaplan, Power BI etc.)
