Job Description

Autodesk is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to join its Automotive and Conceptual Design team. This role involves ensuring the quality of industry-leading software like Alias and VRED, including new AI-powered capabilities. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop and execute test plans, perform manual and automated testing, identify defects, and continuously improve testing processes to deliver exceptional customer experience.
Must have:
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Experience Design, and Engineering.
  • Develop, execute, improve, and document test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Perform both manual and automated testing.
  • Identify, track and report software defects.
  • Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Conduct functional and regression testing.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in QA automation or software development with a focus on test automation in a desktop software development environment, preferably on Windows and Linux.
  • Proficiency in writing and maintaining test automation for large codebases.
  • Solid foundation in computer science, with knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design/architecture.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Exceptional team player with experience working on a scrum team developing desktop products.
  • Understands software and/or services architecture, development, and testing.
  • Understands Agile and Scaled Agile.
  • Familiarity with professional-grade GUI test automation using Squish.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python or Perl).
  • Experience working with automation frameworks that scale, using tools like Cypress, Playwright, Behave, Robot Framework, or similar.
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with AWS (Amazon Web Services) or other equivalent public clouds.
  • Familiarity with developing test plans specific to AI/ML models.
  • Testing AI/ML models at different stages of development.
  • Proven experience with various testing and automation tools for validating AI/ML models.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML fundamentals, algorithms, and related concepts.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Alias, Autodesk VRED, or other computer-aided industrial design or 3D visualisation software.
  • Familiarity with automotive design and visualisation.

The Automotive and Conceptual Design team is seeking an experienced Quality Analyst to join our passionate group of professional QA analysts. This position is an exciting opportunity to ensure the quality of our products and contribute to our goal of delivering exceptional customer experience for the Alias and VRED product line and the recently announced Autodesk AI-powered capabilities for automotive design studios. Hybrid Role: One to two days onsite the office per week.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Experience Design, and Engineering to ensure that products, services, and capabilities are designed and created with the highest quality standards.
  • Develop, execute, improve, and document test plans, test cases, and test scripts to provide comprehensive and practical testing of our deliverables.
  • Perform both manual and automated testing to validate that products meet business requirements and consistently exceed customer expectations.
  • Identify, track and report software defects, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies to maintain high-quality standards in the face of evolving complexity and interdependencies.
  • Conduct functional and regression testing to uncover defects that existing test cases may not detect.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in QA automation or software development with a focus on test automation in a desktop software development environment, preferably on Windows and Linux
  • Proficiency in writing and maintaining test automation for large codebases
  • Solid foundation in computer science, with knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design/architecture
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Passion for quality and an understanding of the latest test automation technologies and frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Exceptional team player with experience working on a scrum team developing desktop products; understands software and/or services architecture, development, and testing; understands Agile and Scaled Agile
  • Familiarity with professional-grade GUI test automation using Squish
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python or Perl).
