Job Description

tonies is seeking a Senior Financial Controller – Cost Controller to manage and analyze cost center performance for PEX, OPEX, and Marketing functions. This role involves developing cost tracking models, participating in group consolidation, providing spend optimization insights, leading budgeting processes, and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in financial controlling, solid knowledge of HGB and IFRS, and strong analytical and Excel skills. Must Have:
  • Take ownership and analysis of cost center performance for PEX, OPEX, and Marketing functions.
  • Develop detailed cost tracking and forecasting models.
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation of the Group’s P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
  • Provide clear insights and recommendations to budget owners on spend optimization.
  • Lead cost elements of budgeting and forecasting processes across departments.
  • Prepare variance analyses, cost reports, and management dashboards.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management.
  • Collaborate closely with various departments to ensure financial integrity and efficiency.
  • Conduct and support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in financial processes and systems.
  • Act as a key user for group reporting tools.
  • Completed degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or comparable field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in financial controlling.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting standards according to HGB and IFRS.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Business Central, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and a high affinity for numbers.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
  • Proactive and independent work style, combined with strong teamwork capabilities.
  • Fluency in English, spoken and written.

##### Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Take ownership and analysis of cost center performance for PEX, OPEX, and Marketing functions.
  • Develop detailed cost tracking and forecasting models to ensure spending transparency across functions.
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation of the Group’s P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
  • Provide clear insights and recommendations to budget owners on spend optimization.
  • Lead cost elements of budgeting and forecasting processes across departments.
  • Prepare variance analyses, cost reports, and management dashboards to track performance vs. targets.
  • Preparing and presenting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analyses to senior management.
  • Collaborating closely with various departments to ensure the financial integrity and efficiency of business processes.
  • Conducting and supporting internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement in financial processes and systems.
  • Act as a key user for group reporting tools; experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) is an advantage but not mandatory.

  • A completed degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or comparable field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in financial controlling.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting standards according to HGB and IFRS.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Business Central, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and a high affinity for numbers.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
