The Senior FPGA Designer participates in design reviews, provides insights on FPGA architecture, VHDL implementation, simulation, and hardware integration. This role supports the development of FPGA-based design improvements for product quality and efficiency, ensuring adherence to company standards. Responsibilities include analyzing design requirements, developing test plans, consulting with cross-functional teams, and troubleshooting hardware issues.

Must Have:
  • Analyzes FPGA design requirements and specifications.

  • Consults with cross-functional teams to address FPGA design issues.
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of VHDL to architect, implement, and optimize FPGA designs.
  • Performs simulation and verification using industry-standard tools.
  • Engages in hands-on hardware testing and debugging.
  • Supports the development and implementation of FPGA design improvements.
  • Troubleshoots FPGA-related hardware issues and implements corrective actions.
  • Participates actively in design reviews and technical discussions.
  • Ensures adherence to company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in VHDL design, RTL verification.
  • Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering/Electronic Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experienced in the use of Git.
  • FPGA Development.
  • Design review processes.
  • Configuration management.
  • Engineering Test and Troubleshooting experience.

Senior FPGA Designer

The Senior FPGA Designer is responsible for participating in design reviews and technical discussions and providing valuable insights and recommendations on FPGA architecture, VHDL implementation strategies, simulation trade-offs, and hardware integration optimizations, working under limited supervision. The role consults with cross-functional teams to address FPGA design issues and constraints, fostering effective communication and alignment across departments.

The role plays a vital role in supporting the development and implementation of FPGA-based design improvements aimed at enhancing product quality, performance, and efficiency, leveraging insights gained from ongoing simulation, verification, and hardware testing processes. The role ensures adherence to company policies, procedures, and quality standards throughout all FPGA design and development activities, fostering a culture of consistency and compliance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes FPGA design requirements and specifications to determine optimal implementation solutions for components in Philips products, ensuring alignment with performance and reliability standards, working under limited supervision.
  • Develops, executes, and documents comprehensive test plans, simulation environments, design specifications, test results, procedures, and protocols to validate FPGA designs, conducting thorough analyses and evaluations throughout the product development lifecycle, and maintaining accurate records for future reference and auditing purposes.
  • Consults with cross-functional teams to identify, address, and resolve FPGA design issues and constraints, fostering effective communication and alignment across departments.
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of VHDL to architect, implement, and optimize FPGA designs, ensuring robust functionality and efficient resource utilization.
  • Performs simulation and verification using industry-standard tools to validate timing, logic correctness, and performance, ensuring designs meet all functional and timing requirements.
  • Engages in hands-on hardware testing and debugging, running synthesized FPGA code on target platforms and collaborating with hardware teams to resolve integration issues.
  • Supports the development and implementation of FPGA design improvements aimed at enhancing product quality, performance, and efficiency, leveraging insights gained from ongoing simulation, verification, and hardware evaluation processes.
  • Troubleshoots FPGA-related hardware issues and implements appropriate corrective actions, applying advanced problem-solving skills to mitigate technical challenges and minimize production downtime.
  • Participates actively in design reviews and technical discussions, providing valuable insights and recommendations on FPGA design considerations, trade-offs, and potential optimizations.
  • Ensures adherence to company policies, procedures, and quality standards throughout all FPGA design and development activities, fostering a culture of consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures/practices to determine appropriate action, applying analytical skills to resolve medium complexity requests efficiently

You're the right fit if:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in areas such as VHDL design, RTL verification.
  • Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering/Electronic Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering
  • Product development, preferably full lifecycle.
  • Experienced in the use of Git, including branching, resolving merge conflicts and Pull requests.
  • FPGA Development
  • Design review processes.
  • Configuration management
  • Engineering Test and Troubleshooting experience
  • Comfortable taking the lead on tasks, with appropriate support.
  • Drives communication – asks questions, raises issues early with proposed solutions.
