Job Description

As a Senior Game Designer, you will lead the vision and execution of core 4X gameplay systems. You'll collaborate with Product, Engineering, Art, and Live Ops to craft balanced, rewarding loops. Responsibilities include architecting and iterating on 4X pillars, tuning progression, creating design docs, prototyping systems, partnering with engineers and artists, aligning with LiveOps, analyzing player data, supporting QA, guiding junior designers, advocating for best practices, and mentoring developers.
Must have:
  • 4+ years of experience in design, live-ops, or product on 4X-style titles.
  • 2+ shipped mobile games, ideally in the strategy/RTS genre.
  • Deep understanding of strategy game economies, tech trees, AI behaviors, and combat balancing.
  • Strong proficiency with design tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, Miro, Notion).
  • Experience with live-service features: season passes, events, leaderboards, etc.
  • Familiarity with free-to-play monetization models and soft-currency economies.
  • Basic scripting or prototyping skills (Lua, Python, C#).
  • Passion for community engagement and player feedback channels (forums, Discord).
  • Hands-on experience with Unity and in-house tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to distill complex systems into clear documentation.
  • Analytical mindset: comfortable defining KPIs, interpreting player metrics, and driving data-led decisions.

We are currently looking for a motivated Game Designer to support us. In the following role, you will be working in a global team of international professionals.



Role Overview:

As a Senior Game Designer, you will lead the vision and execution of core 4X gameplay systems on one of our strategy titles. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Art, and Live Ops to craft balanced, rewarding loops that drive player engagement and retention.

Areas of responsibility:

  • Architect and iterate on 4X pillars: exploration mechanics, resource economies,
    technology trees, diplomacy/AI, and combat.
  • Tune progression curves, difficulty scaling, and rewards for mobile session lengths.
  • Create clear, concise design docs, flowcharts, and mock-ups.
  • Rapidly prototype systems (paper-prototypes or in-engine) to validate fun & balance.
  • Partner with engineers to implement features; work with artists/UI to deliver polish.
  • Align with LiveOps and Analytics to define KPIs and A/B test hypotheses.
  • Analyze player data and feedback to refine mechanics, economy, and monetization.
  • Support QA in scenario testing and bug triage for balance issues.
  • Guide junior designers through reviews and feedback.
  • Advocate for best practices, design standards, and documentation.
  • Mentor other developers in the team and help maintain code, product, and process quality




Qualifications:


  • 4+ years
    of experience (design, live-ops, product) on commercially released 4X-style titles.
