Job Summary
We're looking for a passionate and self-sufficient Senior Game Designer Systems to join the design team for our Dungeons & Dragons project. As a systems design expert, you'll play a key role in creating, evolving, and balancing the game systems that define the player experience. You'll be working with the production teams—programming, art, and design—to come up with sleek, sustainable solutions that fit the game's vision. Your expertise will allow you to oversee complex systemic initiatives, ensure the quality of their implementation, and guide less experienced designers in their work.
Must Have
- Design, develop and improve game systems, respecting the vision and objectives of the game.
- Take charge of designing systemic features: writing clear documents, cross-communication, alignment, and production tracking.
- Collaborate closely with different disciplines to ensure a consistent and high-quality implementation.
- Set, tweak, and balance feature settings based on data and user tests.
- Communicate progress status, risks, and needs to the production teams, and participate actively in the planning.
- Analyze player behaviors, telemetry, and community feedback to iterate on existing systems.
- Enhance the player experience by assessing the impact of systemic decisions on playability and the overall coherence of the game.
- Guide and support intermediate and junior designers by sharing best practices, documentation, feedback, and mentorship.
