We are seeking a Senior HR Operations Specialist to join our team at Rockstar North in Edinburgh, Scotland. The position will be responsible for managing and supporting the implementation of our global HR operation strategies, with a primary focus across internal talent movement and mobility globally. Reporting into the Associate Director, HR Operations, the position will collaborate and partner closely with global Rockstar HR and our T2 partners to drive policies and processes, ensuring effective, responsive delivery of support to provide the best employee experience. 

This position must have a highly collaborative approach and a strong skillset to manage many stakeholders across multiple departments. The right experience will come with a seasoned HR generalist background working across all areas of HR along with global experience where you’ll be able to apply that experience and knowledge to the role. 

This is a full-time, permanent and in-office position based in Rockstar’s state-of-the-art game development studio in Edinburgh, Scotland. 

WHAT WE DO

  • The Rockstar Games HR Team is responsible for empowering our employees to reach their greatest potential and create the ground-breaking games we’re known for.
  • We partner with senior leadership to drive proactive strategies of engagement, wellbeing, operations, and learning & organizational development.
  • HR Operations collaborate with our global HR Partners to develop new initiatives and programs that enables our teams to deliver their best.
  • We ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive working environment through guidance, compliance, and leading by example.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the key point of contact for Rockstar global mobility in multiple countries, inclusive of Contingent Workers and other classifications of our workforce while managing local statutory requirements.
  • Partner with our parent company T2 (HR, Legal, Finance, Payroll) on all employee mobility considerations to ensure business and employee needs are supported.
  • Support the development of our relocation policies and practices with our T2 partners and drive the implementation across our Rockstar HR teams.
  • Guide our UK employees and managers through the end-to-end transfer/relocation process, with consideration around local and legal practices and cultures.
  • Work with our IT and legal teams on the engagement of our Contingent Workers to ensure consistency and global alignment, within the required legal parameters.
  • Work with our HR teams to ensure implementation and understanding of relevant mobility practices and processes as supported by our T2 teams.
  • Drive other related HR operations initiatives across benefits, policies, compliance, and compensation where required by partnering closely with the Global HR Operations team.
  • Strong operational and strategic focus on continuous improvement efforts to identify efficiencies in order to continue to streamline processes both locally and globally.
  • Provide HR data and reporting to Senior Management with complete accuracy and the ability to cohesively tell the story. 
  • Monitor legislation and legal provisions that may affect HR processes and ensure Rockstar is in legal compliance while maintaining best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in HR and employment law.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 6 to 8 years as a seasoned HR generalist, with a focus on all components of talent movement. 
  • Experience working across cultures and with the flexibility to span time zones.
  • Excellent project management experience.
  • Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize actions.
  • Knowledge and experience with HRIS and in particular, Workday.
  • Degree in HR or relevant field required.

  • A sense of ownership, initiative, and drive.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, across multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Must be very detail-oriented and have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications with the ability to influence change & process improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility across internal and external relationships with the needs of Rockstar at the forefront of everything we do.
  • Must be able to find discreet ways to operate and work on confidential and sensitive tasks in an open office setting.
  • Confidentiality, diplomacy, and commitment to the needs of Rockstar are essential.

  • Previous HR experience within the Creative Industries – video games, film, television, music – would be beneficial.
