Senior Legal Counsel

This role involves advising Tencent's game business teams on legal and business matters. Key responsibilities include negotiating, drafting, and reviewing various commercial agreements, such as IP licensing, service, and advertising agreements. The counsel will also ensure compliance with US, European, and international laws related to gaming and intellectual property, collaborate with global legal teams, and manage external counsel. Candidates should possess strong transactional and technology licensing experience.

Must Have

• Advise game business teams on legal and business issues.
• Negotiate, draft, and review IP licensing and commercial agreements.
• Ensure compliance with US, European, and international gaming and IP laws.
• Cooperate with global Tencent attorneys.
• Manage outside counsels.
• Juris Doctor, LLM, or Chinese law degree.
• Strong transactional and technology licensing experience.
• 3+ years’ work experience in law firm or in-house legal department.
• Admitted to relevant bar.
• Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English.

What the Role Entails

• Ensure compliance with US, European, and other international laws and regulations dealing with gaming and intellectual property.
• Cooperate with other Tencent attorneys based in Asia, Europe and the US.
• Manage outside counsels.

Who We Look For

• Education: Juris Doctor, LLM, or Chinese law degree.
• Strong transactional and technology licensing experience.
• 3+ years’ work experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
• Admitted to relevant bar.
• Working Language: Mandarin Chinese and English.
