Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Data Analytics will provide solutions and make data-driven decisions, occasionally leading a small team but primarily serving as an individual contributor. Responsibilities include developing dashboards and tools for actionable insights, improving revenue strategy and content monetization, managing data discovery, and facilitating self-service capabilities. The role focuses on establishing a robust internal data warehouse and continuous improvement processes to support data-driven decision-making across the division.
Must Have

Job Description
Senior Manager, Data Analytics.
Scripps Shared Services Company, headquartered in Cincinnati, OH has an opening available for a Senior Manager, Data Analytics. The position is responsible for providing solutions and making better decisions based on data, information, and analysis. This project lead will occasionally lead a small team of analysts to accomplish this task. The majority of the time, the individual will serve as an individual contributor/analyst.
Schedule: 8am-5pm M-F OR 9am-6pm M-F. Residence and remote work permitted from anywhere in the U.S. via telecommute.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Develop dashboards, tools, and datasets to provide actionable insights;
- Provide insights with specific emphasis on improving revenue strategy and monetization of content;
- Inspire new thoughts, and develop an in-depth understanding of systems, processes, and data;
- Manage data discovery and operational setup for revenue and content data;
- Facilitate self-service capabilities by providing tools for operational data visualization;
- Develop and maintain the Business Intelligence roadmap with focus on enabling end-users to access actionable insights independently;
- Collaborate with analytics and business teams to provide technical expertise in the establishment of a robust internal data warehouse, powering audience dashboards and reports;
- Establish processes for continuous improvement through feedback loops with business functions and operations teams;
- Design and implement supportive quantitative analyses, focusing on assisting in data-driven decision making across the division; and
- Employ proficiency in data operations and visualization to support the identification and quantification of opportunities.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Business Analytics or a related quantitative field (foreign equivalent degrees accepted) and 5 years of progressive, post-degree experience as a Data engineer, data architect or closely related OR Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Business Analytics or a related quantitative field (foreign equivalent degrees accepted) and 3 years of experience as a Data engineer, data architect or closely related.
- Also requires 5 years of experience (3 with Master’s) in each of the following:
- Strong programming skills with Python and R;
- Utilizing skills in ETL, data modeling, and SQL; and
- Solving challenging business problems using computational techniques.
- Also requires 3 years of experience in each of the following:
- Power Query, PowerPivot, and Power BI experience;
- With data visualization tools like Domo, Looker, Tableau, or MicroStrategy;
- In data mining, modeling, analysis, and reporting;
- With legacy operational systems and how to extract data from them;
- In developing and supporting analytics/BI/data platforms; and
- Working with a broadcast ad inventory system such as Wide Orbit and conducting analysis using data from that or a similar platform.
Requires familiarity with Java (or a similar language).
