Firesprite, a PlayStation Studios family member in Liverpool, seeks an experienced Senior Manager, HR for a 9-month fixed-term contract. This role involves delivering studio HR strategy, aligning with global initiatives, coaching leadership, managing employee relations, and enhancing HR processes. The ideal candidate will champion DE&I, support training, analyze HR metrics, and lead a small HR team, ideally working hybrid in the Liverpool studio.
Must have:
  • Coaching and advising studio Leadership Team on HR activities
  • Managing complex and high-risk employee relations matters
  • Maintaining HR policies, process maps, and documentation
  • Enhancing and streamlining HR Processes for efficiency
  • Supporting cyclical HR activities like performance appraisal and compensation reviews
  • Overseeing initiatives to enhance culture and employee engagement
  • Championing DE&I initiatives within the studio
  • Supporting creation and delivery of HR-related training
  • Compiling and analyzing HR metrics for insights and reporting
  • General HR administration, including HR Management System maintenance
  • Leading and mentoring a small HR team
  • CIPD qualification
  • Significant experience in a senior generalist HR role
  • Experience managing a HR function and partnering with senior leadership
  • Proven experience in cultural change/transformation and driving employee engagement
  • Experience collaborating with Centres of Excellence
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law, best practice, and current HR developments
  • Computer literate with experience using HR Management Systems (Workday)
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Proven experience in HR metrics analysis and trend identification
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively and act with confidentiality

Role overview:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager, HR who will be responsible for delivering the studio HR strategy, ensuring alignment with wider Playstation Studios and SIE global HR initiatives!

Ideally, we would love individuals to be based in the Liverpool studio for 1-3 days per week.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Coaching and advising the studio Leadership Team and Discipline Heads on all HR related activities, in line with policy, process and best practice
  • Managing of complex and high-risk employee relations matters, where appropriate
  • Maintaining HR policies, process maps and associated templates/documentation, in line with legal and SIE requirements, as well as the studio needs.
  • Enhancing and streamlining HR Processes as required resulting in increased efficiency and improved HR service delivery
  • Supporting the studio Leadership Team and Discipline Heads deliver cyclical HR activities including but not limited to performance appraisal, compensation reviews, talent management and succession planning
  • Overseeing initiatives to enhance culture and employee engagement at the studio, including but not limited to the engagement committee, engagement surveys, recognition and reward
  • Championing DE&I initiatives within the studio, alongside PlayStation Studios and SIE, to increase diversity, equity and inclusion for Sprites
  • Supporting with the creation and delivery of training to managers and our Sprites on HR related activities and initiatives, for example performance management, managing teams and DE&I.
  • Compiling and analyzing HR metrics for the studio Leadership Team to provide meaningful insights and reporting on trends
  • General HR administration to assist the HR team as required, including maintenance of the HR Management System and monitoring of the HR Inbox
  • Completing any other ad hoc HR related activities, as required
  • Leading a small team – managing, mentoring and overseeing the development of our senior HR advisor.

What we are looking for:

  • CIPD qualification
  • Significant experience within a senior generalist HR role, including demonstrable evidence of:
  • managing a HR function;
  • partnering with senior leadership teams;
  • cultural change/transformation;
  • driving employee engagement; and
  • collaborating with Centres of Excellence.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence, constructively challenge, where appropriate
  • An in-depth knowledge of employment law, best practice and current developments in the HR profession
  • Computer literate with experience of using HR Management Systems - Workday
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritise and work to competing deadlines
  • Proven experience of HR metrics analysis and associated reporting/trend identification
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • An ability to work collaboratively within the HR team, and across the wider business, acting with a high degree of confidentiality and trustworthiness
  • Available to work Hybrid is a plus
