Job Summary

Onward Search is seeking a Senior Manager, SEO for an award-winning digital insurance brokerage. This full-time, permanent hybrid role in Boston, Massachusetts, involves leading and evolving the company's organic search strategy, driving innovation across SEO, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and Large Language Models (LLM). The role requires developing and executing roadmaps for organic growth, conducting technical and content audits, and collaborating cross-functionally to implement best-in-class search strategies.

Must Have

  • Develop and lead overall framework and strategy for SEO, AEO, and LLM initiatives.
  • Create and execute a roadmap for organic growth, scaling original and authoritative content.
  • Conduct deep technical and content audits to improve visibility and performance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Paid Media, Content, Product, and Engineering teams.
  • Partner with analytics and finance to forecast, measure, and communicate business impact.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in AI and search.
  • Serve as an expert consultant on SEO, AEO, and LLM topics.
  • 10–15+ years of SEO experience with proven record in large-scale strategies.
  • Expertise in technical SEO (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Schema Markup).
  • Experience implementing Generative AI and LLM-based strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog.

We’re looking to hire a Senior Manager, SEO for a digital insurance brokerage company—an award-winning insurtech brand that empowers small business owners by simplifying the insurance-buying process through data, technology, and exceptional customer experience. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity based in Boston, Massachusetts, with a hybrid work arrangement. East Coast remote candidates will be considered, with occasional travel to the Boston office required.

You’ll join the Marketing team to lead and evolve the company’s organic search strategy, driving innovation across SEO, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and Large Language Models (LLM).

Senior Manager, SEO Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the overall framework and strategy for SEO, AEO, and LLM initiatives, aligning with business and product goals.
  • Create and execute a roadmap for organic growth—driving prioritization, execution, and optimization of initiatives that scale original and authoritative content.
  • Conduct deep technical and content audits to identify opportunities that improve visibility and performance across search and AI-driven discovery platforms.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Paid Media, Content, Product, and Engineering teams to implement best-in-class SEO and AI search strategies.
  • Partner with analytics and finance to forecast, measure, and communicate the business impact of initiatives.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in AI and search, ensuring the company remains an industry leader in the evolving search landscape.
  • Serve as an expert consultant on all SEO, AEO, and LLM topics, providing leadership and thought partnership across internal and external stakeholders.

Senior Manager, SEO Qualifications:

  • 10–15+ years of SEO experience with a proven record in large-scale, performance-driven search strategies.
  • Expertise in technical SEO (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Schema Markup).
  • Experience implementing Generative AI and LLM-based strategies to enhance search visibility and user experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to translate complex SEO concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing agency relationships, mentoring team members, and driving cross-functional collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
