Senior Microsoft 365 Strategy & Consolidation Architect

Miratech is seeking a Senior Microsoft 365 Strategy & Consolidation Architect for a 2.5-3 month fixed-term consulting engagement. The role involves evaluating the consolidation of two complex Microsoft 365 tenants, focusing on hybrid identity, endpoint management, security compliance, and licensing. The architect will deliver a definitive recommendation and a phased migration approach, ensuring a secured, scalable, and compliant tenant configuration for future acquisitions. This position requires a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week.

Must Have

• Lead assessment of two distinct MS 365 environments.
• Define strategy for consolidating corporate identities (on-prem AD to cloud).
• Conduct security and compliance gap analysis (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR/EU data residency).
• Evaluate MS 365 licensing for cost optimization.
• Design phased migration approach and target architecture.
• Prepare final assessment report with strategy, cost plan, and project estimates.
• Plan and lead assessment workshops with stakeholders.
• 5+ years as Architect/Senior Consultant in large-scale Microsoft 365 environments.
• Deep M365 expertise in multi-tenant consolidation and migration.
• Expert knowledge of Hybrid Identity management (AD, Azure AD, AD Connect).
• Strong knowledge of compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR).
• Experience with Microsoft 365 licensing and cost reduction.
• Exceptional consultative skills for workshops and strategy reports.

• Direct experience with MS 365 tenant-to-tenant migration tooling.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Intune for endpoint consolidation.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Microsoft 365 Strategy & Consolidation Architect for a fixed-term consulting engagement of 2.5 to 3 months, requiring a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week. Your primary objective will be to evaluate the consolidation of two complex Microsoft 365 tenants and deliver a definitive recommendation on a phased migration approach.

This assessment requires expertise in hybrid identity, endpoint management, security compliance, and licensing, resulting in a roadmap that supports a secured, scalable, and compliant tenant configuration for future acquisitions.

Responsibilities

• Architectural Analysis: Lead the assessment of two distinct MS 365 environments, focusing on identifying dependencies, B2B connections, multi-forest/domain complexity, and endpoint management models.
• Identity Strategy: Define the strategy for consolidating corporate identities, specifically bridging the gap between an on-prem Active Directory environment and a cloud-transitioning identity model.
• Security & Compliance Gap Analysis: Conduct a thorough analysis to ensure the final tenant configuration aligns with critical security and compliance requirements, including ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR/EU data residency.
• Licensing and Cost Management: Evaluate current MS 365 licensing models to identify risks of duplicate licensing and propose a technology consolidation and cost optimization plan.
• Migration Strategy & Blueprint: Design a phased migration approach and a target architectural configuration that effectively supports future acquisitions without introducing new complexity.
• Reporting & Estimation: Prepare the final assessment report, including the technology consolidation strategy, the cost/licensing optimization plan, and a rough estimation of the migration project timeline and resource needs.
• Stakeholder Management: Plan and lead assessment workshops and interview sessions with key technical and business stakeholders to align on objectives and gather deep architectural data.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an Architect or Senior Consultant focused on large-scale Microsoft 365 environments.
• Deep M365 Expertise: Proven experience with multi-tenant consolidation and migration strategies.
• Identity Management: Expert knowledge of Hybrid Identity management, including Active Directory, Azure AD, multi-forest complexities, and synchronization technologies (AD Connect).
• Security & Compliance: Strong working knowledge of compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2) and data residency requirements (GDPR).
• Licensing and TCO: Experience with Microsoft 365 licensing models and a track record of identifying optimization and cost reduction opportunities.
• Consultative Skills: Exceptional ability to lead technical workshops, interview stakeholders, and synthesize findings into clear, executive-level strategy reports and roadmaps.
