Job Description

A Senior Motion Graphics Artist at Dark Burn Creative, a division of Trailer Park Group, manages asset quality and timelines, working closely with producers and directors. This role involves solving diverse editorial and motion graphics challenges, requiring deep technical, creative, and franchise knowledge. The artist uses good judgment to find solutions, networks internally, and receives general instructions on new assignments. They drive creative development based on approved briefs and mentor other team members.
Good To Have:
  • Knowledge of plugin suites such as Red Giant, Boris Continuum, GenArts Sapphire, Video CoPilot.
  • Photoshop, Illustrator and Design experience.
  • Editorial experience.
  • VFX, Compositing, or 3D animation (roto, 3D titles, situated graphics and VFX touch-ups).

  • Possess 5+ years of Motion Design experience with Adobe After Effects.

A Senior Motion Graphics Artist works closely with both the producers and directors to manage the quality and time required for assets in production, as well as fosters a welcoming and encouraging working environment in the office.

About the role:

  • Works on problems of diverse scope where editorial and/or motion graphics challenges require deep knowledge both on a technical, creative, and franchise level.
  • Uses good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Networks with internal personnel in their own area of expertise.
  • Receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
  • Investigates and explores options; generates viable alternatives; recommends the best solution; makes a final decision. Makes decisions that impact their project or initiative. Consults with leaders, peers and those affected to understand the impact of the decision.
  • Understands game features, brand pillars, targeted audience, and campaign positioning in depth.
  • Provides creative leads with insights of content creative and quality expectations.
  • Accurately captures and documents asset requirements, delivery specs, USPs, and other asset dependent requirements.
  • Works closely with creative leads to gain a detailed understanding of concept, deliverables, and creative tone.
  • Captures, understands and communicates asset dependencies that may impact others within the team.
  • Drives/Collaborates to develop and design the creative based on approved asset briefs.
  • Guides and mentors’ other members of the MGX team
  • Communicates with people with various technical backgrounds.
  • Actively participates in team dailies, providing their thoughts, ideas and feedback in a constructive manner.
  • Identifies and tracks internal and external dependencies for their tasks.
  • Identifies resourcing and dependency issues with their tasks; proactively resolves roadblocks.
  • Manages day-to-day tasks and all projects assigned to them; proactively provides feedback to lead/manager on status of tasks and any changes required in duration, scope of work, an/or completion date.
  • Prioritizes problems to solve based on the production/resource/creative objective, short term/long term impacts keeping in mind the overall organizational goals.
  • Responsible for risk identification, mitigation and contingency planning.
  • Creates detailed plans on how to tackle difficult problems.

About you:

  • 5 + Years Motion Design Experience with Adobe After Effects. Knowledge of plugin suites such as Red Giant, Boris Continuum, GenArts Sapphire, Video CoPilot would be beneficial
  • Photoshop, Illustrator and Design experience is a plus
  • Editorial experience is a plus
  • VFX, Compositing, or 3d animation (especially roto, 3D titles, situated graphics and VFX touch-ups) are a plus
