Job Description

As a Senior Network Engineer at Epsilon, you will design, implement, and support global network infrastructure across datacenters and cloud environments. You will engineer scalable, automated solutions using technologies like Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, AWS, GCP, and Azure, focusing on hybrid and multi-cloud deployments. Your role involves building infrastructure as code with DevOps tools, automating tasks, and collaborating with SRE and security teams to ensure secure and compliant infrastructure. You will resolve complex network issues, monitor performance, and drive the adoption of next-gen technologies.
Must have:
  • Lead design, implementation, and optimization of network services and infrastructure.
  • Engineer scalable, automated network solutions using Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, AWS, GCP, Azure.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Puppet and Terraform.
  • Develop and manage Network DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Automate configuration and management tasks with scripting.
  • Collaborate with SRE and security teams for secure cloud infrastructure.
  • Resolve complex network issues across LAN, WAN, Cloud, Internet, and routing protocols.
  • Monitor network performance, implement QoS, design high-availability solutions.
  • Evaluate and deploy next-gen technologies, drive best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, offer strategic guidance.
  • Continuously assess systems, identify improvements, propose solutions.
  • Drive standardization, documentation, and automation.
  • 10+ years experience supporting high performance production environments.
  • Deep expertise in WAN, routing, datacenter switching, firewalls, load balancing.
  • Experience designing and operating secure hybrid multi-cloud networks.
  • Strong Python programming skills and network automation frameworks.
  • Proficient with Terraform and Ansible.
  • Advanced knowledge of networking protocols (Ethernet, OSPF, BGP, Spanning Tree, IPSec, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, LACP, IPv6, TCP).
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst/Nexus, Dell Force10, Arista, Citrix NetScaler, F5 Big IP.
  • Expertise in traditional and next-generation firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto Networks).
  • Proficiency with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds NPM/NCM, ExtraHop, AlgoSec, NetBrain).
  • Experience developing cloud networking infrastructure (DNS, CDNs, load balancers, VPCs, subnets, security groups).
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Solid understanding of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS).
  • Self-starter, able to work independently.
  • Experience resolving issues across network, OS, and application layers.
  • Proven track record of leading incident response and root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with observability platforms, dashboard creation, and alerting.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members.
  • Certifications from major cloud platforms, Cisco, and Palo Alto.
  • Participate in after-hours on-call rotation.

How You’ll Make an Impact

As a Senior Network Engineer, you’ll play a meaningful role in crafting and supporting Epsilon’s global network infrastructure by designing, implementing, and fixing sophisticated solutions across multiple datacenters and cloud environments. Become part of a skilled network team. Use your knowledge in routing, switching, load balancing, and network security. Your work will directly impact the performance and reliability of our internal and edge Internet/peering infrastructure. You will work closely with vendors and internal collaborators to maintain high standards.

What You’ll Achieve

  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of network services, tools, and infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Engineer scalable, automated network solutions using Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, AWS, GCP, and Azure, with a focus on hybrid and multi-cloud deployments.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure as code using DevOps tools like Puppet and Terraform, ensuring configuration consistency and preventing drift.
  • Develop and manage Network DevOps and CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment, provisioning, and monitoring.
  • Automate configuration and management tasks using scripting languages and tools.
  • Collaborate with SRE and security teams to ensure secure, compliant, and up-to-date cloud infrastructure.
  • Resolve complex network issues across LAN, WAN, Cloud, Internet, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), serving as a technical SME and blocking issue point.
  • Monitor network performance, implement QoS, and design high-availability solutions with redundancy and failover mechanisms.
  • Evaluate and deploy next-gen technologies, including cloud-managed networks, and drive adoption of standard methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, project objectives, and offer strategic mentorship throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Continuously assess existing systems, identify areas for improvement, and propose effective solutions.
  • Drive standardization, documentation, and automation across all network and cloud platforms.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Who You Are

  • What you’ll bring with you:
  • 10+ years of experience supporting high performance production environments.
  • Deep expertise in WAN and routing topologies, datacenter switching architectures, firewall concepts, and traffic management technologies such as load balancing and ECMP.
  • Demonstrable experience designing and operating secure hybrid multi-cloud networks (AWS, GCP, Azure), including cloud connectivity models and infrastructure as code.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with network automation frameworks.
  • Proficient with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible to manage network configurations at scale.
  • Advanced knowledge of networking protocols and technologies including Ethernet (10/40/100/400Gbps), OSPF, BGP, Spanning Tree variants, IPSec, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, LACP, IPv6, and TCP.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise networking platforms such as Cisco Catalyst and Nexus, Dell Force10, Arista, Citrix NetScaler, and F5 Big IP.
  • Expertise in traditional and next-generation firewalls, intrusion prevention systems using Cisco and Palo Alto Networks solutions.
  • Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds NPM/NCM, ExtraHop, AlgoSec, and NetBrain.
  • Experience developing cloud networking infrastructure including DNS, CDNs, load balancers, VPCs, subnets, and security groups.
