Who will you work with?
Currently, the Onboard Engineering team is composed of engineers and analysts who, collaboratively, work directly with clients and development teams to understand the needs of railways and direct the future of the onboard system in Brazilian Railways.
How will you make a difference?
As a member of the PTC Onboard System team, you will be responsible for working directly with railways to control and ensure the performance of the PTC system in railway operations, conducting failure analyses, defect corrections, maintenance control, and customer support for PTC system maintenance, developing solutions and producing documentation such as schematics, specifications, and manuals for new PTC installations, developing controls and managing indicators for current projects, and working closely with Wabtec's global teams for the implementation of new systems and projects in Brazilian railways.
What do we want to know about you?
- Complete higher education in Electrical, Electronic, or Control and Automation Engineering.
- Proven experience in embedded systems applied to the railway industry.
- Experience with railway signaling systems, with a focus on PTC and I-ETMS.
- Experience in fault analysis, defect correction, and technical support for railway systems.
- Ability to develop and interpret electrical and electronic schematics.
- Experience in preparing technical documentation: schematics, specifications, and manuals.
- Ability to conduct software and hardware tests in an operational environment.
- Experience with software lifecycle management tools and requirements traceability.
- Proficiency in English (advanced or fluent), with solid writing and conversation skills.
- Ability to develop system performance indicators and controls.
- Ability to lead meetings and technical discussions in collaborative environments with international teams.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Availability for travel and field work with railways.
How will your day-to-day be?
- Work closely with internal and external project teams in identifying and solving problems.
- Document identified problems by creating reports and KPIs for performance control.
- Develop and apply corrections and improvements to ensure the performance of the PTC system in railway operations.
- Development of plans and field execution of functional tests for validation of the PTC system operation.
