Job Description

This role involves comprehensive product development from conceptualization to mass production, focusing on power electronic components like PCB Gate Driver Solutions, DC-DC converters, and analog circuits. Key responsibilities include circuit design, component selection, simulation, optimization, and characterization of new circuits. The Senior Product Development Engineer will also generate schematics, supervise PCB layout, create technical documentation, and provide technical support to customers, collaborating with various internal and external teams.
Must have:
  • Product design from conceptualization to mass production
  • Circuit design of power electronic components for industrial applications
  • Knowledge in components selection and second source proposals
  • Generate simulation and calculations
  • Product design optimization, evaluation and documentation of PCB Gate Driver
  • Facilitate technical design review with engineering teams
  • Characterization of new circuits and components
  • Perform low and high voltage characterizations
  • Perform components characterization and various electrical evaluations
  • Generate schematic and supervise PCB layout design
  • Generation of internal technical documentation
  • Familiar in safety, quality/reliability, and manufacturability of products
  • Technical lead, facilitate technical reviews and trainings for junior engineers
  • Provide design technical support and technical advice to customers
  • Work with vendors, test engineering and industrialization teams
  • Prepare designs for testing and manufacturing
  • Collaboration and support with related industrial groups
Good to have:
  • Power electronics design experience and knowledge of power electronic components (e.g. Diode, IGBT, MOSFET, SiC MOSFET, Gate Driver) and/or SMPS
  • Knowledge of understanding and interpreting international standards (e.g. DIN EN and IEC)

Responsibilities

  • Product design from conceptualization to mass production
  • Circuit design of power electronic components for industrial applications with focus on PCB Gate Driver Solutions, dc-dc converter, analog circuits and etc
  • Knowledge in components selection and second source proposals, generate simulation and calculations
  • Product design optimization, evaluation and documentation of PCB Gate Driver built with the company’s products.
  • Facilitate technical design review with engineering teams.
  • Characterization of new circuits and components.
  • Low and high voltage characterizations, components characterization and perform various electrical evaluations
  • Generate schematic and supervise PCB layout design
  • Generation of internal technical documentation such as technical presentation, test plan and test reports
  • Familiar in safety, quality/reliability, and manufacturability of the products
  • Technical lead, facilitate technical reviews and trainings for junior engineers
  • Provide design technical support and technical advice to customers
  • Work with vendors, test engineering and industrialization teams to prepare designs for testing and manufacturing.
  • Collaboration and support with related industrial groups like Marketing, IC Development, Application Engineering, Operations, Test Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and etc.

Requirements

  • Degree in electronics engineering or in related fields
  • Excellent understanding of Power Electronics and electronics engineering fundamentals
  • 5 years of experience of power electronics design in any of the following: gate drivers, switch mode power supply and power management. Fresh graduate is welcome to apply.
  • Knowledge and experience of power electronics components such as IGBT. Si or SiC MOSFET, gate drives and analog/digital circuits (e.g., op-amps, comparator, logic gates, and etc)
  • Knowledge or familiarity with circuit simulation tools (e.g., Simetrix/Simplis, LTSpice) and PCB layout (e.g., Altium)
  • Good command of spoken and written English
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Learning capability and willingness to be trained and pursue further education
  • Resilient under stress even in tough situations
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Team player

Preferred

  • Power electronics design experience and knowledge of power electronic components (e.g. Diode, IGBT, MOSFET, SiC MOSFET, Gate Driver) and/or SMPS
  • Knowledge of understanding and interpreting international standards (e.g. DIN EN and IEC)
