Gameopedia is seeking a passionate and experienced Sr. product Marketing Manager to join our team in shaping the future of the gaming industry. As a leading online platform for gamers and businesses, we are dedicated to creating life-changing experiences by empowering players and connecting them with the games and opportunities they love.

We're a global team of 120+ tech junkies who manage one of the world’s largest living libraries of video game data. Our catalog has information on over 130,000 games across 200 platforms and we're growing every day.

At Gameopedia, product marketing is the bridge between cutting-edge technology and our users, connecting them in engaging and impactful ways. Your mission will be to understand our products deeply and the needs of our buyers, creating a seamless connection between the two.

Role Overview:

As a Product Marketing Manager at Gameopedia, you will lead and participate in all stages of a product’s marketing journey. From defining positioning and conducting competitive analysis to crafting compelling sales messages, you will help shape the product’s voice and drive its adoption. You will collaborate closely with teams across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Operations, and Product Management.

Expectations for This Role:

1. Market Insight:

  • You will be the expert on our customers, understanding their goals, challenges, successes, and setbacks. You’ll foster a customer-obsessed mindset across all teams you work with.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitive movements, potential partnerships, and opportunities. You will identify and capitalize on these to enhance our strategic positioning.

2. Product Expertise:

  • Act as the vital link between our products and our customers. Invest time in comprehensively understanding our product’s features, implementation, future roadmap, strengths, and weaknesses.
  • Monitor how our product stands against competitors, ensuring its positioning is both effective and distinct.

3. Storytelling:

  • You will excel in communicating complex ideas in simple, digestible terms. Your expertise in messaging and positioning will shape how the product is perceived by various stakeholders including customers, partners, industry influencers, and internal teams like Sales and Marketing.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Empathy is key to success in this role. You’ll coordinate with various functional teams, each with their own priorities and schedules. Being proactive, assertive when necessary, and empathetic will be crucial to driving the success of initiatives.
  • Align different teams towards common goals, ensuring timely and successful execution of marketing programs and initiatives.

5. Analytics and Insight:

  • Your inquisitive nature and constant questioning will drive progress. You will be expected to execute, measure, refine, and re-execute strategies to achieve better outcomes continually.
  • Use analytics as a tool for advancement, ensuring it informs decision-making rather than causing hesitation. Your ability to measure and report on key metrics will always support the next iteration of our strategies.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Go-to-Market Strategies:

  • Develop and own go-to-market plans and create product messaging that clearly differentiates our products in the marketplace.
  • Perform in-depth competitor analysis to highlight and communicate our product’s unique strengths and advantages.

2. Customer-Centric Messaging:

  • Use data to pinpoint precise customer segments for critical business objectives. Develop and implement customer-focused messaging strategies that align with these insights.
  • Challenge the status quo by centering customer needs in all messaging. Enhance the quality of customer-facing content to increase the effectiveness of key marketing assets.

3. Channel Effectiveness and Marketing Mix:

  • Rigorously evaluate the effectiveness of various marketing channels. Prioritize tactics based on business goals and develop a marketing mix that effectively communicates product benefits to drive user acquisition and engagement.

4. Event Strategy and Content Creation:

  • Design and execute strategies for maximizing visibility and conversions at conferences, roundtables, and product marketing webinars.
  • Collaborate with third-party experts and thought leaders to produce research-based content and whitepapers that promote our new features and products.
