Job Description

As a Senior Prop Artist, you will bring a medieval world to life by creating high-quality, immersive 3D props. You will collaborate with the Art Director, Environment Team, and Technical Artists to ensure artistic consistency and enhance player immersion and storytelling. Responsibilities include creating optimized assets, collaborating with the Tech Art team, researching medieval objects, and mentoring junior artists. You will work with the latest tools and technologies.
Must have:
  • 3+ years of experience as a 3D Prop Artist.
  • Proficiency in 3D software and sculpting tools.
  • Expert in texturing with Substance Painter/Designer.
  • Strong understanding of PBR workflows and optimization.
  • Experience working with Unreal Engine 5.
  • Ability to create detailed and optimized assets.
  • Passion for world-building and knowledge of medieval architecture.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Good to have:
  • Experience with procedural asset workflows.
  • Experience in a survival or RPG game production.

Your Role

We’re looking for a Senior Prop Artist to bring our medieval world to life with high-quality, immersive props. You’ll work closely with our Art Director, Environment Team, and Technical Artists to create assets that enhance player immersion and storytelling.


Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality 3D props that fit seamlessly into our stylized yet realistic medieval world.
  • Ensure artistic consistency by following art direction, style guides, and technical constraints.
  • Work closely with the Environment & Level Design teams to create props that enhance gameplay and storytelling.
  • Optimize assets for performance while maintaining visual fidelity, ensuring smooth gameplay.
  • Collaborate with the Tech Art team to ensure assets integrate efficiently into our pipeline and engine.
  • Research and reference real-world medieval objects to ensure authenticity and immersion.
  • Assist in developing modular asset workflows, enabling procedural generation where applicable.
  • Provide mentorship and feedback to junior artists, ensuring high artistic standards across the team.


Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a 3D Prop Artist in the gaming industry.
  • Proficiency in 3D software (Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max) and sculpting tools (ZBrush).
  • Expert in texturing with Substance Painter/Designer and Photoshop.
  • Strong understanding of PBR workflows and optimization for real-time rendering.
  • Ability to adapt and integrate existing models, basemeshes, materials, and textures (e.g. from Quixel Megascans) into new assets, ensuring seamless quality and consistency.
  • Experience working with Unreal Engine 5
  • Ability to create detailed and optimized assets that align with technical limitations.
  • Passion for world-building and strong knowledge of medieval architecture, tools, and props.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with procedural asset workflows (Houdini, SpeedTree, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience in a survival or RPG game production is a strong plus.
  • Onsite position (EU work authorization required).
