Job Summary
Lanterns, an independent video game studio in Tunis, Tunisia, seeks a 3D Artist Intern. This role involves developing 3D elements, models, and VFX for video games. Responsibilities include creating and integrating 3D models and textures, ensuring quality, and aligning work with artistic direction within a PBR pipeline. The intern will contribute to compelling gameplay experiences and stories.
Must Have
- Create 3D models and textures (architecture, objects, and props) following artistic direction, production deadlines, and technical specifications
- Sculpt/model, UV, texture, and integrate both high- and low-polygon meshes within a PBR pipeline
- Verify the quality of assets in the game and make improvements when needed to respect technical constraints and artistic direction
- Make necessary adjustments to ensure all work aligns with the artistic vision
- Integrate 3D models and props into the game engine
- Knowledge of 3ds Max, Blender, or an equivalent tool
- Knowledge of Photoshop
- Understanding of real-time modeling techniques (shaders, PBR, normals, displacement, etc.)
Good to Have
- Familiarity with game engines
- Knowledge of ZBrush and Substance Painter
- Good organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills (spoken and written)
- Solid understanding of video games and broad video game culture
- Self-motivated and agile

A 3D Artist develops the 3D elements, models, and VFX that will be integrated into our products and video games.
The daily life of a 3D Artist at Lanterns:
- Create 3D models and textures—including architecture, objects, and props—following the artistic direction, production deadlines, and technical specifications.
- Sculpt/model, UV, texture, and integrate both high- and low-polygon meshes within a PBR pipeline.
- Verify the quality of assets in the game and make improvements when needed to respect technical constraints and artistic direction.
- Make necessary adjustments to ensure all work aligns with the artistic vision.
- Integrate 3D models and props into the game engine.
- Carry out all other related tasks.
