Job Description

Join the Autodesk Building Design team as a Senior QA Automation Engineer to build the next generation of Autodesk Insight. You will lead initiatives to improve software quality, stability, reliability, and usability, combining QA mindset with strong technical skills in test automation. Responsibilities include evaluating testing tools, creating and executing test plans, promoting engineering excellence, and collaborating on automated testing within CI/CD pipelines. You will also support production services and mentor teammates.
Must have:
  • Evaluate testing tools and frameworks for project use
  • Create and execute automated and manual test plans for new and existing features
  • Perform functional, performance, security, load, installation, globalization/localization, scalability, and resiliency testing as needed
  • Promote engineering excellence and a quality-first mindset
  • Collaborate on implementing, deploying, and maintaining automated testing within CI/CD pipelines
  • Support production services in an on-call rotation and act as an escalation contact for service incidents
  • Document, manage, and prioritize defects clearly
  • Monitor, analyze, and report automated and manual test results and metrics
  • Share knowledge, mentor teammates, and actively engage in Agile ceremonies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in automation testing for web applications and desktop products
  • Knowledge of test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases, debugging, and testing
  • Proficiency in JavaScript
  • Experience with testing tools such as Cypress, Playwright, TestComplete, K6, Bruno, or similar
  • Comfortable working in Linux and Windows environments
  • Ability to debug using logs and observability tools like Splunk or Dynatrace
Good to have:
  • Experience with containerized environments like Docker
  • Understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
  • Experience with load testing
  • Familiarity with tools like Fiddler or other web debugging proxies
  • Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment

Position Overview

If so, we invite you to join the Autodesk Building Design team, the makers of Autodesk Revit.

We’re looking for an accomplished and highly motivated Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our cross-functional Agile team. Our team is building the next generation of Autodesk Insight, a cloud service that empowers architects and engineers to design energy-efficient buildings using advanced simulation engines and performance analysis data integrated with Autodesk Revit.

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you will lead initiatives to improve the quality, stability, reliability, and usability of our software. You will combine your quality assurance mindset with strong technical skills in test automation. You’ll develop and execute test plans, validate the quality of both cloud services and desktop changes, and ensure we identify and address defects early in the development process. You will also collaborate with the larger Building QA organization and product support teams to ensure customer success.

  • Comfortable working in Linux and Windows environments
  • Ability to debug using logs and observability tools like Splunk or Dynatrace

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with containerized environments like Docker
  • Understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
  • Experience with load testing
  • Familiarity with tools like Fiddler or other web debugging proxies
  • Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment
