Job Summary
AppZen is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to manage daily revenue accounting operations, establish scalable revenue processes, strengthen internal controls, and maintain audit readiness. This role involves reviewing customer contracts for ASC 606 compliance, performing month-end close activities, conducting quarterly CECL aging analysis, and collaborating with GTM, Deal Desk, and AR teams. The accountant will also support system initiatives and assist with audits, ensuring financial integrity and providing insights for management.
Must Have
- Manage daily revenue accounting operations, including contract review for ASC 606.
- Perform month-end revenue close processes and account reconciliations.
- Conduct quarterly CECL aging analysis and develop AR metrics.
- Resolve complex AR & Collections issues.
- Perform month-end close flux analysis for revenue and AR.
- Maintain annual SSP analysis, item master & FV records.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with GTM, Deal Desk, and AR teams.
- Support revenue accounting system initiatives.
- Prepare audit schedules and assist with external audits.
- Maintain highest documentation standards.
- Provide inputs for revenue forecasts to FP&A.
- Prepare detailed revenue packages for management/Board.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Revenue Accounting, Order Management, full cycle Accounts Receivable for SaaS.
- Knowledge of US GAAP accounting, specifically ASC 606.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and G-Suite.
- Netsuite ERP, ARM, and SalesForce experience.
- Experience with Coupa, Ariba, and other portals.
Good to Have
- Knowledge of US Sales Tax.
- Full cycle AR experience.

We are seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to manage daily revenue accounting operations, establish scalable revenue processes, strengthen internal controls, and maintain audit readiness as customer volume and contract complexity increase. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Revenue and will be a trusted advisor to our GTM, Deal Desk and AR teams. You’ll shape how we evolve our processes, and ensure our commercial agreements meet revenue recognition requirements for accuracy and compliance.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Manage daily revenue accounting operations - Review, analyze & approve customer contracts using the ASC 606 framework and company policy for revenue recognition.
- Review & approve revenue arrangements for allocations, concessions etc to ensure accurate revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606.
- Perform the month-end revenue close process by preparing revenue-related account reconciliations and journal entries for revenue, deferred revenue, and unbilled receivables.
- Perform quarterly CECL aging analysis to ensure consistent application of ASC 326 and work with AR & Collections Lead to develop and report key AR metrics for management reporting.
- Work closely with the AR team to resolve complex AR & Collections issues.
- Perform regular month-end close flux analysis, identifying and explaining significant variances in revenue and accounts receivable balances to ensure financial integrity and provide insights for management decision-making.
- Perform & maintain annual SSP analysis - along with managing item master & FV records.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with GTM, Deal Desk and AR teams to resolve issues.
- Support revenue accounting system initiatives, including implementation, testing, and optimization.
- Prepare various audit schedules and assist with audit coordination with external auditors during year-end audit.
- Maintain the highest documentation standards.
- Work closely with FP&A to provide inputs for revenue forecasts as needed.
- Prepare detailed revenue packages for management, audit committee/Board as requested.
- Participate in special projects as and when they arise.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- 5+ years of similar experience in Revenue Accounting , Order Management and full cycle Accounts Receivable for SaaS companies.
- Knowledge of US GAAP accounting, Revenue Accounting , specifically in revenue for customer contracts (ASC 606) is required.
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
- Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately and is flexible.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and G-Suite Applications.
- Highly motivated, energetic self-starter and a strategic thinker.
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral, and the ability to build relationships with others within and outside the Finance team.
- Netsuite ERP, ARM and SalesForce Experience are a must.
- Experience in using Coupa, Ariba and other portals.
