Senior Software Engineer

We’re looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer for a digital fintech platform drive financial progress through cutting-edge technology and a mission-driven approach to helping members achieve financial independence. 

You’ll join the Engineering team to lead the transformation of core banking architecture and member-facing services, enabling scalable, integrated financial product offerings in a modern, service-oriented environment. This is a 1+ year contract opportunity. The role is located in San Francisco, CA and is fully remote. 

Senior Software Engineer Responsibilities:  

• Lead the development and testing of scalable systems and services 

• Help shape the technical architecture of our platform 

• Translate product requirements into user stories and technical designs 

• Deliver reliable, high-performance services in a production environment 

• Mentor team members and contribute to a strong engineering culture 

• Propose new ideas, solutions, and initiatives 

• Collaborate effectively with project leads, product managers, and fellow developers 

Senior Software Engineer Requirements:  

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field 

• 4+ years of programming experience with a modern tech stack 

• 2+ years of experience with Java, Kotlin, or Scala 

• Strong understanding of relational databases and ORMs 

• Experience working with service-oriented or microservice-based architectures 

• Willingness to roll up your sleeves and collaborate to deliver impactful results 

• Ownership mindset and ability to drive projects from start to finish 

• Problem-solving orientation and a focus on delivering user value 

• Experience working in a collaborative development environment (e.g., code reviews, pull requests) 

Nice to have: 

• Interest in personal finance 

• Experience managing investments or personal loans 

• Experience scaling high-availability, mission-critical systems 

• Full-stack exposure: systems (Kafka, Docker, POSIX), databases (Postgres), or front-end (JavaScript/TypeScript, React)
