Job Description

Onward Search is hiring a remote Lead Engagement Manager to support a portfolio of hotels by managing and executing group and meetings RFPs. This 1+ year contract opportunity involves overseeing approximately 20 hotels, utilizing tools like Salesforce and MeetingBroker for timely and strategic RFP execution. The role requires collaboration with internal sales teams and hotel stakeholders, leveraging organizational skills and hospitality industry experience to drive results.
Must Have:
  • Lead and execute the Groups & Meetings RFP process, ensuring compliance and timely responses.
  • Collaborate with hotels, internal sales teams, and peers to align strategies and optimize outcomes.
  • Utilize systems and external tools to maintain accurate records and support revenue strategies.
  • Analyze market insights and data to inform negotiation strategies and drive favorable outcomes.
  • Communicate professionally with stakeholders, providing rationale for proposals and negotiations.
  • Manage workload efficiently during peak periods while maintaining quality standards.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in work hours during high-demand periods.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5–8 years of progressive service industry experience, including at least 2 years in multi-unit or corporate hotel roles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, relationship management, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
  • Knowledge of hotel sales, marketing, business planning, and competitor strategies.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, MeetingBroker, and other sales software; familiarity with RFP processes.
  • Understanding of electronic distribution channels (GDS, internet), hotel operations, central reservations, and rate loading.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously in a virtual environment.
