Job Description

Xsolla is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to focus on backend challenges. The role involves building and deploying reliable, secure, and scalable backend systems, refactoring legacy code, and driving production readiness through incident response and observability. The engineer will participate in architectural discussions, write testable code, and advocate for sound development practices. The position also requires collaboration with product managers and designers, contributing to technical scoping, and identifying opportunities to reduce technical debt and improve the developer experience. The ideal candidate is pragmatic, curious, and driven by solving complex problems at scale.
Must have:
  • 6+ years of software engineering experience
  • 2+ years of Go experience in production
  • Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL
  • Proficient with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
  • Familiarity with RabbitMQ/Kafka
  • Comfortable with Git and CI/CD
  • Working knowledge of React/Next.js
  • Basic understanding of GCP
Good to have:
  • Experience with Login-as-a-Service platforms
  • Deep knowledge of OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, JWT
  • Strong grasp of social login, SSO
  • Designed multi-tenant identity systems
  • Delivered developer-friendly APIs/SDKs
  • Strong English communication skills

ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is pragmatic, curious, and driven by solving complex backend challenges at scale. You thrive in fast-paced environments and take pride in writing clean, maintainable, and performant code. You’re not just a builder — you’re a problem solver who understands the importance of security, scalability, and developer experience.

You bring deep hands-on experience with Go in production systems, confidence working with databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL, and a solid grasp of containerized infrastructure and CI/CD workflows. You’ve likely worked on authentication or identity platforms and are comfortable implementing secure protocols like OAuth2 and OIDC. Just as importantly, you collaborate well with others, contribute thoughtfully to architecture discussions, and take ownership from ideation to deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship reliable, secure, and scalable backend systems.
  • Own implementation from design to deployment, ensuring maintainability and performance.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and offer informed technical input.
  • Refactor legacy codebases to improve structure and efficiency while maintaining featurecontinuity.
  • Drive production readiness by handling incident response, root cause analysis, andobservability improvements.
  • Write clear, testable, and well-documented code, emphasizing quality and automation.
  • Contribute to a culture of engineering excellence through code reviews and designdiscussions.
  • Advocate for sound software development practices and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to align on objectivesand deliverables.
  • Contribute to technical scoping and estimation for features and infrastructure work.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and improve the developer experience.

Qualification & Skills

  • 6+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Go (Golang) in production environments.
  • Strong experience working with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
  • Proficient with containerization and orchestration tools: Docker, Kubernetes (K8s), and Helm.
  • Familiarity with messaging systems like RabbitMQ or Kafka.
  • Comfortable using Git and CI/CD tooling in collaborative workflows.
  • Working knowledge of frontend technologies, especially React and/or Next.js.
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
