Must have:
  • Design and develop high-quality enterprise software, managing product delivery lifecycle, incorporating AI/LLM safely.
  • Work across diverse technical domains: API, event, data modeling, importing, and transmission.
  • Own full development lifecycle: technical discovery, architecture, implementation, rollout, and support.
  • Facilitate cross-team collaborations, integrate customer feedback, drive successful execution and delivery of solutions.
  • Over 5 years of software engineering experience delivering impactful user-facing products.
  • Pragmatic, business-oriented, prioritizing projects for impact, balancing craft, speed, and bottom line.

About the role

Join the team that is building the compliance backbone of Rippling’s benefits ecosystem—the infrastructure that translates complex regulations into reliable, automated systems. These systems ensure our customers remain compliant while keeping their employees covered, efficiently and seamlessly.

Globally, over $5 trillion is spent annually by employers and employees on various benefits, ranging from health insurance to retirement savings and flexible plans like HSA, FSA, and LSA. These products are crucial in assisting families with some of life’s most significant decisions.

In this role, you will develop mission-critical features, including COBRA administration experiences, an industry-leading ACA filing and reporting system, and more. Our charter continues to expand across the benefits landscape, even on a global scale.

What you will do

  • Lead and Innovate: Design and develop high-quality enterprise-grade software products, managing the entire product delivery lifecycle to ensure excellent outcomes, as well as incorporating AI/LLM where applicable, safely.
  • Engage in Complex Challenges: Work across diverse technical domains, including API design, event modeling, data modeling, data importing and transmission.
  • Technical Leadership: own the full lifecycle of development - from technical discovery and architecture design to implementation, rollout and support.
  • Collaborate and Drive Impact: Facilitate cross-team collaborations, effectively integrate customer feedback into the product engineering roadmap, and drive the successful execution and delivery of solutions.

What you will need

  • Proven Experience: You have over 5 years of professional experience as a software engineer, with a demonstrated ability to deliver impactful and reliable user-facing products from end to end, preferably with Python, Django, Go, MongoDB, Postgres, AWS
  • Pragmatic and business-oriented: Your care about business impact and prioritize projects accordingly. You’re not just going after cool stuff–you understand the balance between craft, speed and the bottom line.
  • Adaptability: You thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments, demonstrating agility and resilience in the face of change.
  • Clear Communication: You have excellent skills in communicating complex technical ideas with clarity and precision, enabling effective collaboration and decision-making.

A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation–including a candidate’s professional background, experience, and location. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed below.

The pay range for this role is:

159,000 - 278,250 USD per year (US Tier 1)
