Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will translate customer needs into new products and capabilities, using deep technical expertise to develop and deliver scalable design blueprints across the software development lifecycle. You will be responsible for designing and building Java/Spring boot applications, managing the development lifecycle, articulating design considerations, and ensuring the quality of software deliverables. This role requires strong communication skills, a critical thinking mindset, and a passion for delivering high-quality software. The role involves collaborating with geographically distributed teams and providing training to team members.
Must have:
  • Degree in Software or Systems Engineering
  • Expert level Java 17+ programming skills
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
  • Strong experience with microservices and Spring Boot
  • Deep technical knowledge of APIs and frameworks
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Understanding of CI/CD processes
Good to have:
  • Domain knowledge of Telecom
  • Experience in NoSQL databases (Couchbase, MongoDB)
  • Experience in AWS cloud technologies
  • Experience with code analysis and test automation tools
  • Understanding of Security (Authentication and Authorization)
  • APIGEE or Nginx API gateway experience
  • Exposure to monitoring tools (CloudWatch, NewRelic)
  • Experience with design patterns and secure coding
  • Experience with agile and CI/CD process
  • Understanding of change management principles
  • Well-versed with Linux/Windows

What You’ll Do

  • Design/Build Java/Spring boot application and leverage Microservice architecture
  • Design technical architecture solutions that span multiple domains (Sales, Service, Marketing, Analytics, Social, and Communities) and include integration and authentication across systems.
  • Manage the development lifecycle to ensure the delivery of highly secure solutions that are optimized for performance and built to scale.
  • Articulate design considerations, trade-offs, benefits, and recommendations for technical architecture.
  • Monitor the process of software configuration/development/testing to assure quality deliverables.
  • Critical thinking mindset, a strong sense of accountability for product delivery, passion to develop quality software.
  • Good communication skills and team player
  • Experience working (or willing to work) with a geographically distributed team.
  • Provide training and educate other team members about core capabilities and helps them deliver high-quality solutions and deliverables/documentation.

About You

Essential:

  • Degree-level IT qualifications in Software or Systems Engineering.
  • Programming languages: Java 17+ (Expert)
  • Experience in cloud platform such as AWS/Azure cloud services etc
  • Strong hands-on experience in development and testing using microservice/lightweight containers & frameworks such as Spring Boot
  • Deep technical knowledge of microservices, web development frameworks and APIs.
  • Understanding of design patterns and ability to show expertise in applying design patterns. 
  • Involved in the design and implementation of secure, scalable, fault-tolerant systems in the cloud.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL DBs  
  • Understands CI/CD process and has experience with at least 1 build server (e.g. bamboo, GitLab ci, Jenkins, etc)

Highly desirable:

  • Domain knowledge of Telecom
  • Experience in NoSQL database such as Couchbase, MongoDB etc.
  • Experience in Cloud technologies (primarily AWS): serverless computing (lambda, step functions, Glue), RDS, ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS, kinesis
  • Experience with code analysis and test automation tools, security testing tools
  • Understanding of Security (Authentication and Authorisation)
  • APIGEE or Nginx or similar API gateway experience.
  • Exposure on monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, NewRelic, Splunk and Pager duty
  • Experience with design patterns, architecture, secure coding
  • Has contributed to developing and maintaining agile and CI/CD process within a project.
  • Understanding of change management principles and experience in production support
  • Well-versed with Linux/Windows
