Thales is seeking a Senior Technical Writer / Engineer for Technical Documentation S1000D in Kiel, Germany. The role involves independently creating and maintaining interactive technical documentation (IETD) according to ASD S1000D and military standards, developing maintenance and training documents for complex systems, and managing project requirements and work packages. The ideal candidate will have a technical degree or equivalent, profound experience with CMS like EAGLE/HiCo and structured documents (XML/SGML), and proficiency in ASD standards and MS Office.

Must Have:
Independent creation and maintenance of interactive technical documentation (IETD) according to ASD S1000D and military standards
Development of maintenance, repair, and training documents for complex systems
Analysis of project-specific requirements, creation of compliance matrices, and management of requirements
Definition and structuring of work packages including effort, duration, and dependencies
Close collaboration with internal departments, customers, and subcontractors
Creation of technical content such as performance descriptions, editorial guidelines, terminology lists, and quick guides
Verification of technical documentation on the product and reporting on progress, quality, deadlines, and budgets
Definition and management of deliverables, scope of services, and activities including their dependencies in the project context
Completed technical degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or similar, or a completed technical education with further training as a state-certified technician
Profound experience with Content Management Systems (EAGLE, HiCo) and structured documents (XML/SGML)
Proficient in ASD standards S1000D, S2000M, S3000L, MIL-STD, and project-specific customer guidelines
Proficient in MS Office
Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken
