Job Summary
Playtika is seeking a Technical Artist (Unity) to join a high-performing team developing a new growth initiative. This role bridges art and development, ensuring games are visually appealing and performant across platforms. The Technical Artist will own visual implementation, optimization, and the technical art pipeline, shaping tools, workflows, and the visual style of new titles. The position involves integrating and optimizing art assets, developing custom tools, and collaborating with artists and engineers to meet visual and performance goals.
Must Have
- Integrate and optimize 2D/3D art assets, shaders, and VFX in Unity.
- Develop custom tools and editor scripts for efficiency.
- Implement and fine-tune materials, lighting, and post-processing.
- Collaborate with artists and engineers on visual and performance goals.
- Optimize graphics performance (GPU/CPU, draw calls, batching, memory).
- Troubleshoot technical art challenges (shaders, animation rigs, scene setup).
- Maintain art pipeline between 3D tools (Blender/Maya/Substance) and Unity.
- 2+ years experience as a Technical Artist in Unity.
- Strong understanding of Unity Editor, C# scripting, and Shader Graph/HLSL.
- Ability to optimize visuals for performance without quality compromise.
- Solid understanding of art pipelines, lighting, rendering, and VFX.
- Experience with 3D tools like Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable in a small, agile team environment.
Good to Have
- Experience with VFX Graph, Timeline, or Cinemachine.
- Familiarity with Substance Painter/Designer or other material authoring tools.
- Experience with mobile game performance optimization.

About the Role
We’re looking for a Technical Artist (Unity)to join a small, high-performing team developing new growth initiative within Playtika. As a Tech Artist, you’ll serve as the bridge between art and development, ensuring that our game not only looks great but also performs beautifully across platforms.
You’ll take ownership of the visual implementation, optimization, and technical art pipeline, helping shape the tools, workflows, and visual style that will define our new title.
What You’ll Do
- Integrate and optimize 2D/3D art assets, shaders, and VFX within Unity.
- Develop custom tools and editor scripts to improve team efficiency and asset workflows.
- Create, implement, and fine-tune materials, lighting, and post-processing setups to achieve a cohesive visual style.
- Collaborate closely with artists and engineers to ensure art assets meet both visual and performance goals.
- Profile and optimize graphics performance (GPU/CPU, draw calls, batching, memory).
- Troubleshoot and solve technical challenges related to shaders, animation rigs, or scene setup.
- Maintain and refine the art pipeline between tools like Blender/Maya/Substance and Unity.
- Contribute to shaping the look and feel of a brand-new IP from day one.
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of experience as a Technical Artist or in a similar role within Unity.
- Strong understanding of Unity Editor, C# scripting, and Shader Graph (or HLSL).
- Proven ability to optimize visuals for performance without compromising quality.
- Solid understanding of art pipelines, lighting, rendering, and VFX.
- Experience with 3D tools such as Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max.
- Creative problem solver with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Comfortable working in a small, agile team where everyone wears multiple hats.
