We're looking for a Senior Technical Artist who can bridge art, VFX, and engineering helping bring stylized world to life while keeping it performant on mobile.
You'll define our shader and rendering pipeline, guide visual effects implementation, and own performance profiling across heroes, enemies, and environments.
You'll work closely with:
- 3D Head on look development & materials
- Visual Director on VFX concept & cinematic polish
- Engineering on URP integration and optimization
- VFX Artist (Dev) on scalable, cohesive, stylized effects
This is a senior, hands-on role ideal for someone who loves the intersection of artistry and technical precision.
What You Will Do
================
Build & Maintain Stylized Rendering Systems
- Create and expand Kalpas stylized shader library including rim lighting, dissolves, distortion, and emissive effects built and optimized for URP.
Performance Optimization
- Profile and optimize GPU, CPU, memory usage, and overdraw to consistently achieve 60 FPS on targeted mobile devices.
Tools & Pipeline Improvements
- Develop Unity tools and C# scripts to speed up art workflows (e.g., LOD automation, import validation, and material setup).
VFX Integration
- Work closely with VFX artists to deliver performant, visually cohesive particle effects and environmental visuals.
Creative Collaboration
- Team up with art and cinematic directors to bring concept art and storytelling to life through real-time rendering.
Rendering Quality & Cross-Platform Support
- Diagnose and resolve rendering and lighting challenges while coordinating with engineering to maintain high visual fidelity across platforms.
Documentation & Mentorship
- Share best practices on materials, texture budgets, and effect composition to elevate the whole team.
Future-Ready Visual Pipeline
- Build scalable rendering and optimization pipelines to support upcoming worlds, characters, heroes, and bosses.
What You Bring
==============
- 5 to 8 years experience as a Technical Artist or Rendering Specialist in Unity.
- Strong expertise in Unity URP, Shader Graph, and HLSL fundamentals.
- Proven track record shipping stylized 3D games (mobile or console).
- Solid understanding of VFX workflows and shader-based effects.
- Proficiency with performance analysis tools such as Frame Debugger, GPU Profiler, and RenderDoc.
- Experience developing Unity editor tools and C# automation.
- Strong grasp of lighting, color grading, post-processing, and visual readability in real-time.
- Excellent communication and cross-disciplinary collaboration abilities.
Bonus Skills

- Familiarity with Houdini, Amplify Shader Editor, or procedural texturing tools.
- Knowledge of compute shaders or custom URP render features.
- Experience with Addressables, asset bundles, or optimized mobile memory usage.
- Strong artistic eye for VFX timing, motion, and composition.
