Job Summary
As a Senior Test Engineer at Power Integrations, you will be responsible for the technical aspects of PCBA testing at the EMS. You will develop and sustain test programs and hardware, and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness. This position requires collaboration with test engineering staff in Switzerland, Operations personnel, and EMS test staff. The responsibilities include implementing and optimizing In-Circuit Test (ICT), Functional Circuit Test (FCT), and In-System Programming (ISP) test programs, designing test fixtures, troubleshooting software and hardware, interacting with the EMS for test engineering and sustenance, documenting test programs and processes, driving continuous improvement, and analyzing test data to create comprehensive reports.
Must Have
- Implement and optimize ICT, FCT, and ISP test programs.
- Design test fixtures for the Teradyne TestStation test system.
- Solve production issues and troubleshoot software and hardware.
- BSEE/MSEE degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or similar education.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in PCBA test development and sustaining.
Good to Have
- Experience in testing automotive certified PCBAs.
- Knowledgeable in automotive requirements (VDA, IATF).
- Experience in Agile PLM (Product Lifecycle Management).
- Fluent in English.
Job Description
- Implement and optimize In-Circuit Test (ICT), Functional Circuit Test (FCT) and In-System Programming (ISP) test programs for our PCBAs on Teradyne TestStation test system
- Design test fixtures for Teradyne TestStation test system
- Solve production issues and troubleshoot the test software and hardware
- Interact with our EMS for test engineering and sustenance-related matters
- Document the test programs and processes (test specifications, release procedures, working instructions)
- Drive continuous improvement of the test programs and processes in production
- Analyze the test data and create comprehensive reports
Education and Experience:
- BSEE/MSEE degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or similar education
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in test development and sustaining support for PCBA
- Good experience in developing In-Circuit Test (ICT), Functional Circuit Test (FCT) and In-System Programming (ISP) on Teradyne TestStation test system (or Agilent 3070 test system) and NI TestStand/LabVIEW test system
- Good knowledge in power electronics, analog and mixed signal electronics
- Good experience and knowhow in C/C++ programming, computer hardware/software and servers
- Experience in testing automotive certified PCBAs and knowledgeable in the automotive requirements (VDA, IATF) would be an advantage
- Experience in Agile PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) is desirable
- Language: Fluent in English, other languages would be an advantage
