We are looking for you as Senior Trade Marketing & Sales Manager (All genders welcome!) at our Munich location.
The role reports directly to the Consumer Business Country Lead Germany.
As a Senior Trade Marketing & Sales Manager, you will play a central role in the strategic development of our sales activities. You will be responsible for the performance of some of the most renowned magazine brands worldwide – VOGUE, AD, Glamour, GQ, and Condé Nast Traveller – and develop holistic concepts to sustainably strengthen their market presence. With a clear focus on the newsstand (single sales), you will identify potential and contribute to positioning our brands for the future in sales and subscriptions.
Your Responsibilities
- You develop brand-specific, holistic sales strategies that combine editorial identity, target group understanding, and market requirements – with a strong focus on single sales opportunities that can also be applied to subscriptions.
- You identify growth potential, derive strategic measures for its exploitation, and accompany their implementation down to the point of sale.
- You work closely with our sales partner MZV and actively manage all relevant sales channels – from wholesale to railway bookstores, special distribution forms, and export.
- You are responsible for data analysis (e.g., IVW, sales, returns) and derive strategic recommendations for title management, print quantity planning, and POS activities.
- You create forecasts, business cases, scenarios, and sales models to enable fact-based decisions and ensure sustainable performance.
- You support our special editions and special features of the magazines with sales foresight – from circulation planning to positioning and cross-media retail cooperations.
- You work closely with editorial, marketing, production, and finance to connect sales goals with editorial strategy and marketing campaigns.
- You contribute your expertise to internal innovation processes, for example, regarding retail brand staging, new POS potential, or data-based sales.
Your Profile:
- You have at least 3 years of professional experience in magazine sales, ideally with a strong focus on single sales, POS or media logistics.
- You know the mechanisms of the German sales system.
- You are analytical, proficient in handling IVW data and Excel – and able to derive concrete strategies from numbers.
- You think entrepreneurially, are brand-conscious and networked, have a feel for target groups, market behavior, and editorial relevance.
- You see yourself as an integrative team player.
- You work in a structured, independent manner and seek creative freedom in an environment that is changing and evolving.
