Diligent is seeking a Senior Travel & Expense Analyst to join its AI-first finance team. This role focuses on redefining travel and expense management through automation and cutting-edge tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency. The analyst will oversee daily T&E operations, ensure policy compliance, support month-end close activities, and drive process improvements. Key responsibilities include leveraging AI tools for expense report reviews, reconciliations, and anomaly detection, while building strong stakeholder relationships and assisting with acquisition integrations.

Must Have

  • Oversee day-to-day travel and expense (T&E) operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Support month-end close activities related to T&E.
  • Ensure policy compliance by reviewing expense submissions.
  • Assist with statutory audits and filings for international entities.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and vendors.
  • Drive process improvement, standardize T&E checklists, and propose automation.
  • Assist with acquisition integrations.
  • Apply an AI-first toolkit for automation and anomaly detection in T&E data.
  • 1-2 years of progressive experience in travel and expense, accounting, or finance.
  • Experience with expense portals and travel portals.
  • Proficient with spreadsheets (formulas, pivots, lookups).

Position Overview

We’re an AI-first finance team, redefining how travel and expense management works. As a Senior Travel & Expense Analyst, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation—leveraging automation and cutting-edge tools to simplify processes, boost accuracy, and unlock efficiencies. Your insights will power smarter analysis and strengthen partnerships across the business, making every journey and every dollar count.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day travel and expense (T&E) operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee expense reports and travel bookings.
  • Support month-end close activities related to T&E, collaborating with FP&A and cross-functional teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of expense accruals and reconciliations.
  • Ensure policy compliance by reviewing expense submissions, identifying exceptions, and partnering with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with statutory audits and filings by preparing T&E schedules and documentation for international entities.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including employees, managers, and vendors; communicate proactively to resolve issues and improve outcomes.
  • Drive process improvement: standardize T&E checklists, reduce manual touches, and propose automation to improve accuracy, efficiency, and speed.
  • Assist with acquisition integrations by aligning new entities to T&E policies, controls, and reporting cadence.
  • Apply an AI-first toolkit: use tools to automate and streamline expense report reviews, reconciliations, audit requests, documentation drafts, and anomaly detection in T&E data.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • 1–2 years of progressive experience in travel and expense, accounting, or finance; technology/SaaS exposure is a plus.
  • Experience with expense portals and travel portals
  • Organised, hands-on, and adaptable; able to prioritise, multitask, and independently drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to partner effectively across functions and geographies.
  • Mindset for automation and AI; proficient with spreadsheets (formulas, pivots, lookups) and eager to pilot new tools.
