Must Have:
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience in validating Ethernet systems and components.
  • In-depth knowledge of Ethernet standards (IEEE 802.3) and protocols.
  • Proficiency in developing and executing comprehensive test plans and strategies.
  • Strong network troubleshooting skills to analyze traffic and diagnose performance issues.
  • Experience in conducting interoperability testing between different Ethernet devices.
  • Solid understanding of Ethernet hardware components like switches, microcontrollers, and PHYs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with hardware, software, and network architecture teams.
  • Proficiency in documenting test results, findings, and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including project leadership and mentoring junior engineers.

Senior Validation Engineer

Role Summary:

  • System Validation: Conduct comprehensive testing of Ethernet-based systems, protocols, and components to ensure functionality, performance, and compliance with industry standards. This includes designing test plans, executing tests, analyzing results, and providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: Investigate and resolve issues related to Ethernet network performance, interoperability, and compliance. Utilize diagnostic tools and methodologies to identify root causes of problems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Document test procedures, findings, and validation results in detailed reports. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including engineering teams and management, to provide updates on validation progress, issues encountered, and proposed resolutions. Ensure that all documentation adheres to company standards and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conducting comprehensive testing of Ethernet hardware components, including switches, microcontrollers, Ethernet PHYs.
  • Developing and executing test plans to validate compliance with Ethernet standards and performance requirements.
  • Performing interoperability testing to ensure seamless communication between different Ethernet devices and systems.
  • Analyzing network traffic and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks, latency issues, and other potential problems.
  • Create test scripts and automation tools to streamline the validation process and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and network architects, to address issues and optimize system performance.
  • Documenting test results, findings, and recommendations for system improvements or troubleshooting purposes.
  • Conducting regression testing to validate the stability and reliability of Ethernet systems after software updates or configuration changes.
  • Participating in design reviews and validation meetings to provide input on Ethernet system architecture, requirements, and implementation.
  • Staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and Ethernet standards to ensure the validation process aligns with best practices and advancements in the field.

Job Qualification:

  • Extensive Experience: a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in validating Ethernet systems and components in a professional setting.
  • Expertise in Ethernet Standards: In-depth knowledge of Ethernet standards (e.g., IEEE 802.3) and protocols, including experience with various Ethernet speeds.
  • Testing Methodologies: Proficiency in developing and executing comprehensive test plans and strategies for Ethernet system validation, including familiarity with test automation tools and scripting languages.
  • Network Troubleshooting Skills: Strong troubleshooting skills to analyze network traffic, diagnose performance issues, and identify root causes of problems in Ethernet systems.
  • Interoperability Experience: Experience in conducting interoperability testing to ensure seamless communication between different Ethernet devices and systems from multiple vendors.
  • Hardware Knowledge: Solid understanding of Ethernet hardware components, including switches, routers, network interface cards, cables, and related technologies.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and network architects.
  • Documentation Skills: Proficiency in documenting test results, findings, and recommendations in a clear and organized manner, including the ability to create technical reports and specifications.
  • Leadership and Mentoring: Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to lead validation projects, mentor junior engineers, and provide technical guidance to the team.
  • Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and Ethernet advancements through self-study, training programs, and participation in professional networks and conferences.
