Job Description

Octopus Deploy is seeking a Software Engineer for their Cloud Platform team. The role involves solving infrastructure problems through code, primarily in C#. Responsibilities include managing and optimizing Azure resources, contributing to infrastructure improvements, integrating new Azure services, refining deployment processes, and implementing CI/CD best practices. The engineer will also contribute to internal portal and custom modules in C#, monitor infrastructure health, resolve operational issues, and participate in incident management and an on-call roster. The role is remote and based in Australia or New Zealand. The company offers a transparent compensation system with salaries for the Intermediate level ranging from $115k to $145k AUD/NZD, excluding superannuation/KiwiSaver. Overview
Join our Cloud Platform team and apply your Software Engineering mindset and skills, in combination with DevOps, SRE, or similar knowledge, to solve infrastructure problems through code (mostly C#).

For example, you will manage and optimise various Azure resources, ensuring that the cloud-based infrastructure scales efficiently and remains reliable.

Additionally, you will contribute to improving infrastructure, whether that involves integrating new Azure services, refining deployment processes, or implementing best practices for continuous integration and continuous deployment.

You’ll be supported in growing your skills and learning from more experienced engineers.

This is a remote role based in Australia or New Zealand.

Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Infrastructure Management:
  • Monitoring and Optimisation of Azure resources.
  • Contribute to infrastructure improvement initiatives.
  • Application Development:
  • Contribute to and enhance internal portal and custom modules in C#
  • Ensure smooth deployment and integration of features.
  • Operations and Maintenance:
  • Monitor infrastructure health.
  • Resolve operational issues and minimize downtime.
  • Respond to customer requests
  • Involved in incident management and on-call roster.
  • Key Technologies: Azure (AKS, SQL, Storage Accounts, Azure Functions, and other cloud services), Kubernetes.

Compensation:
Octopus has an internally open and transparent system for compensation. Any Octonaut can view the compensation for any role at any level. This ensures people doing the same work with the same skill get paid the same. 

The compensation for this role is:
Level 2 (Intermediate): Maturing: $115k AUD / $125k NZD, Performing: $135k AUD / $145k NZD

Salaries exclude Super and KiwiSaver.
