Job Description

As a Software Engineer II at Google Cloud, you will work on critical projects, contributing to the development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software solutions. You'll collaborate with peers and stakeholders in design reviews, ensuring best practices are followed. Responsibilities include writing code, debugging issues, contributing to documentation, and managing project priorities. The role requires expertise in software development using languages like Python, C++, Java, or JavaScript, along with experience in data structures and algorithms. Opportunities exist to switch teams and projects as the business evolves. The ideal candidate will be versatile, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic about tackling new challenges across the full-stack.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Software development experience (Python, C++, Java, JavaScript)
Data structures and algorithms experience
Code review and feedback
Project prioritization and management

Good to have:

Master's or PhD in Computer Science
Experience with accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
Experience with data structures or algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

Write product or system development code.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
