Job Description

DICE, an Electronic Arts studio, is seeking Master Thesis students for an unpaid, temporary internship in Stockholm. The role involves deep diving into problem spaces, with a particular interest in projects incorporating Generative AI or Machine Learning technologies. Students can propose their own thesis ideas or explore subjects like Core Systems/Optimizations, Productivity Tools, or Rendering to enhance game development efficiency and graphics. This is an opportunity to work closely with researchers and contribute to games reaching millions of players.
Good To Have:
  • Experience in Unity, Unreal, Maya, or Houdini
  • Fluency in C++ or C# depending on topic
Must Have:
  • Background in computer science or similar
  • Interest in the programming side of things
  • Interest in working in games
  • Associated with a university education or any other type of education that has an internship period planned into the education plan
  • Already residing in Sweden

Master Thesis - Open Application

We are looking for Master Thesis students to work on our team and go deep in any of a wide range of problem spaces. While we welcome a variety of research approaches, we are especially interested in projects that incorporate Generative AI or Machine Learning technologies. If you’re excited about leveraging these transformative techniques to tackle challenges in game development, we would love to hear your ideas!

For this current hiring cycle, we are looking for you who is interested in exploring any of the following subjects:

  • Core Systems / Optimizations - Enhance engine efficiency: Focus on optimizing core systems like multithreading and hardware utilization to improve game performance across diverse platforms.
  • Productivity Tools - Streamline development processes: Investigate how Frostbite’s suite of tools can be refined or expanded to boost development efficiency and creativity in game production.
  • Rendering - Push graphical boundaries: Utilize Frostbite’s high-fidelity rendering capabilities to innovate in real-time graphics, exploring areas like ray tracing and complex lighting models.

What We Look For

We are looking for students with a background in computer science or similar - maybe you major in something else, but you are probably still interested in the programming side of things and you have an interest in working in games. Experience in Unity, Unreal, Maya, or Houdini will also improve your merits as well as fluency in C++ or C# depending on topic.

This internship is unpaid and temporary employment. It needs to be associated with a university education or any other type of education that has an internship period planned into the education plan, for example, LiA. We are not able to provide relocation services for this role, so we will only consider candidates already residing in Sweden.
