Job Summary
The Software Safety Engineer will design and develop the Software Integrity Manager (SWIM), a web-based application for capturing and managing compliance data against software safety standards such as DO-178C and IEC 61508. This role requires strong software development skills, preferably Java, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to deliver a reliable, user-friendly, and standards-compliant solution.
Must Have
- Design and develop the SWIM web application (backend and frontend).
- Collaborate with UK SMEs to define architecture and requirements.
- Implement phased workflows aligned with safety lifecycle stages.
- Ensure compliance with safety-critical standards (DO-178C, IEC 61508).
- Develop database integration, reporting, and export functionality.
- Host and maintain the application in secure environments.
- Provide documentation, compliance evidence, and user support.
- Proficiency in C, C++, Java, Python, or Rust.
- Experience with web application development (server-side and client-side).
- Knowledge of databases and data integration.
Good to Have
- Familiarity with safety standards (DO-178C, IEC 61508).
- Experience with requirements management tools (Polarion, DOORS).
- Knowledge of secure hosting environments.
- Experience with scripting (Python, Bash).
- French language skills.

Job Summary:

This role requires strong software development skills (preferably Java) and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to deliver a reliable, user-friendly, and standards-compliant solution.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop the SWIM web application (backend and frontend).
- Collaborate with UK SMEs to define architecture and requirements.
- Implement phased workflows aligned with safety lifecycle stages.
- Ensure compliance with safety-critical standards (DO-178C, IEC 61508).
- Develop database integration, reporting, and export functionality.
- Host and maintain the application in secure environments.
- Provide documentation, compliance evidence, and user support.
Must-have Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in software development.
- Proficiency in at least one of: C, C++, Java (preferred), Python, Rust.
- Experience with web application development (server-side and client-side).
- Knowledge of databases and data integration.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-have Skills:
- Familiarity with safety standards (DO-178C, IEC 61508).
- Experience with requirements management tools (Polarion, DOORS).
- Knowledge of secure hosting environments.
- Experience with scripting (Python, Bash).
Languages & Mobility:
- English – mandatory;
- French – nice to have
- Mobility: Occasional travel to the UK for workshops and reviews.
