Sound Designer needed for high-end game production in Tokyo, Japan. Work duties

  • Production of various sound data in high-end games
  • You will perform sound-related work involved in the production of game titles, such as producing in-game sound effects, audio, cutscenes, music, sound data for promotional videos, and implementing these in games. 
  • If you have advanced production skills and knowledge in in-game sound effects, audio, cutscenes, music, or any other category of sound work, you may be asked to focus on the work where you can capitalise on those skills and knowledge. 

 Eligibility

  • Those who have experience in game sound production for one game title or more, or advanced knowledge and experience equivalent to this. 
  • The ability to communicate in Japanese is required to work closely with directors, game designers, and other team members. 

Desirable experiences, etc. (not required)

  • Extensive software knowledge of sound production environments and sound production tools such as sound engines, game engines and sound middleware for commercial or non-commercial use.
  •  Experience with sound direction in-game titles
  • Knowledge of copyrighted sound-related works and licenses
  • Engineer experience in Foley recording, audio recording, mixing, mastering, etc.
  • Ability to communicate in multiple languages other than Japanese
  • Knowledge and experience that enable you to produce and implement sound data, in consideration of optimizing various game platforms
  • Technical sound design ability that enables you to devise an accurate workflow after understanding the mechanism of various sound tools, regardless of the sound engine, hardware, and software.
  • Production experience and knowledge of new technologies such as immersive audio
  • Knowledge and experience in localised audio data production
