Job Description

PayPal is seeking a Sr Analyst, Systems Analysis to lead the modeling and mapping of the Enterprise Data Model, handle coding, script validation, bug fixes, and unit testing. The role involves translating business requirements into technical solutions for data platforms, addressing data quality issues, and coordinating solution launches. Responsibilities include querying multiple databases, scripting with Shell and Python, and performing data reconciliation. The analyst will also facilitate technical discussions, conduct testing, manage incidents, and lead significant data migration initiatives.
Must Have:
  • Lead the modeling and mapping of the Enterprise Data Model (EDM)
  • Handle end-to-end coding, script validation, bug fixes, and unit testing
  • Develop and document solutions of medium to high complexity
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions for data platforms
  • Address data quality and integrity issues through validation, profiling, and cleansing
  • Coordinate with internal teams and customers for solution launches
  • Query across multiple databases (AWS, MySQL, MongoDB, Snowflake)
  • Script using Shell and Python
  • Analyze the current state of implementations
  • Perform data reconciliation against source systems (Google Cloud, BigQuery, Redshift, MS SQL Server)
  • Facilitate technical discussions for product development
  • Demonstrate proficiency with analytics tools and coding
  • Conduct unit testing and user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Manage incidents and tickets through Jira
  • Manage project delivery and support user requests
  • Lead significant initiatives such as Venmo Snowflake to BigQuery migration
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills by troubleshooting and resolving complex data issues efficiently
  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related quantitative discipline plus three (3) years of experience in business systems analytics or program analytics
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related quantitative discipline plus five (5) years of experience in business systems analytics or program analytics
  • 3 years of experience in Data modeling and Data mapping of the Enterprise Data Model
  • 2 years of experience with Big Data – Hadoop, Hive, HBase, Spark
  • 1 year of experience with Google Cloud – BigQuery
  • 2 years of experience with SQL
  • 3 years of experience with MySQL
  • 2 years of experience with Tableau

Job Description:

Job Duties: Lead the modeling and mapping of the Enterprise Data Model (EDM) for various adjacencies and handle end-to-end coding, script validation, bug fixes, and unit testing. Develop and document solutions of medium to high complexity to meet end-user requirements. Translate business requirements into technical solutions for data platforms and address data quality and integrity issues through validation, profiling, and cleansing. Coordinate with internal teams and customers for solution launches and ensure proper training and communication while measuring and documenting the results of implemented solutions. Query across multiple databases (AWS, MySQL, MongoDB, Snowflake) and script using Shell and Python. Analyze the current state of implementations to ensure that changes are well understood by clients and project teams. Perform data reconciliation against source systems using various platforms including Google Cloud, BigQuery, Redshift and MS SQL Server. Facilitate technical discussions for product development and demonstrate proficiency with analytics tools and coding necessary for prototype and requirements documentation. Conduct unit testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) and manage incidents and tickets through Jira. Manage project delivery, support user requests, and lead significant initiatives such as the Venmo Snowflake to BigQuery migration for Data Warehouse and Data Lake consolidation. Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills by troubleshooting and resolving complex data issues efficiently. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related quantitative discipline plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience in the field of business systems analytics or program analytics or Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related quantitative discipline plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of business systems analytics or program analytics.
