Sr. QA Automation Engineer

Forescout is seeking a Sr. QA Automation Engineer to join their fast-growing team, focusing on cybersecurity defenses. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining robust automated test frameworks, leading test strategy execution, and championing quality best practices across the SDLC. The engineer will drive root cause analysis, mentor junior QA engineers, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure high-quality releases, contributing to test data management, performance, security, and usability testing efforts.

Must Have

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks.
• Lead test strategy, plan, and test case creation and execution.
• Champion quality best practices, including shift-left testing and CI/CD integration.
• Drive root cause analysis and resolution of bugs.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and provide technical leadership.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with development, product, and DevOps.
• Contribute to test data management, performance, security, and usability testing.
• Provide detailed feedback to software teams for defect pinpointing.
• 7+ years experience in QA automation for client server products.
• Proficiency in automated testing tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, REST Assured).
• Strong command of programming/scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Java).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Deep understanding of API, UI, integration, and regression testing.
• Familiarity with cloud-based testing and containerized deployments.
• Hands-on experience with TestRail, Zephyr, and Jira.
• Knowledge of performance and load testing tools (JMeter, k6).
• Proficiency in qualitative QA analysis of AI outcomes.
• Strong networking skills (TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, SNMP, DHCP, 802.1x).
• Experience with network automation and virtualization technologies.
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving.
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration.
• Proactive, quality-driven mindset, effective planning, risk assessment.
• Ability to mentor and influence without formal authority.

Good to Have

• Experience with API testing is a plus.
• Windows-based networks with domain management a plus.

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable automated test frameworks.
• Lead the creation and execution of test strategies, plans, and test cases for complex systems.
• Champion quality best practices across the SDLC, including shift-left testing and CI/CD integration.
• Drive root cause analysis and resolution of bugs and quality gaps.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and provide technical leadership in quality discussions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, product managers, and DevOps to ensure high-quality releases.
• Contribute to test data management, performance, security, and usability testing efforts.
• Provide high quality detail to software teams to help pinpoint software defect areas.

What You Bring To Forescout

Core Technical Competencies

• 7+ years of experience as designing, building, and maintaining QA automation around traditional client server products.
• Proficient in automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, REST Assured).
• Strong command of programming/scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Java, etc.).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Deep understanding of software testing methodologies, including API, UI, integration, and regression testing.
• Familiarity with cloud-based testing environments and containerized deployments.
• Hands-on experience with test management tools (TestRail, Zephyr) and bug tracking systems (Jira).
• Knowledge of performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6).
• Proficiency in the subject and qualitative QA analysis of AI outcomes.
• Networking skills including a good understanding of TCP/IP, knowledge in protocols (DNS, SMTP, SNMP, DHCP, 802.1x), familiarity with network equipment configuration (switch/router/firewall), low-level network monitoring and sniffing (sniffers experience), and Windows-based networks with domain management a plus.
• Experience with network automation and virtualization technologies.
• Experience with API testing is a plus.
