Job Description

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and efficient accounting operations. This position requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. The Accountant position requires a full understanding of accounting transactions and impacts on financial statements. This role requires the ability to meet deadlines independently, proactively communicate and taking initiative to research and problem solve.
Must have:
  • Assist with month end closing by completing assigned JEs or tasks timely and accurately.
  • Complete assigned Balance Sheet reconciliations timely and accurately.
  • Responsible for New Vendor Setups in NetSuite and completion of required verification procedures.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Accounts Payable – A/P support back up for escalations, issues, etc.
  • Conduct bi-weekly 1:1 meeting with counterpart managing GSC A/P team.
  • Responsible for 1099 processing, preparation, auditing data, verifying W9’s, and filing.
  • Provide audit assistance with pulling requested sample details for various items.
  • Handle ad hoc projects as needed.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Accountant role.
  • Prior ERP system (Oracle, SAP) experience.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple tasks.
  • Detail oriented, independent problem solver, and self-motivated.
  • Excellent follow-through skills.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Microsoft Word skills.
  • Ability to always maintain confidentiality.
Good to have:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with month end closing by completing assigned JEs or tasks timely and accurately
  • Complete assigned Balance Sheet reconciliations timely and accurately
  • Responsible for New Vendor Setups in NetSuite and completion of required verification procedures
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Accounts Payable – A/P support back up for escalations, issues, etc.
  • Conduct bi-weekly 1:1 meeting with counterpart managing GSC A/P team
  • 1099 processing - responsible for preparation and auditing of data, verifying W9’s on file, reaching out for any required information, verifying upload template needed for third-party site, once approved completing filings before January 31, annually
  • Audit assistance with pulling requested sample details for various items
  • Ad hoc projects, as needed

Qualifications

Background/Experience

  • College degree in Accounting preferred
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Accountant role
  • Prior ERP system (i.e., Oracle, SAP) experience required
  • Must have proven written and verbal communication skills, excellent time management skills, and must be able to meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple tasks.
  • Must be detail oriented, independent problem solver, and self-motivated.
  • Must possess excellent follow-through skills.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required, along with Word. (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP)
  • Ability to always maintain confidentiality
